Hi, I love working in farms, I am 27 and I wish to move to FL next month. I need advice on a city with affordable cost of living, where I can easily get a farm where to work and receive an acceptable salary. Can anyone help me out please?

Oh, did you say acceptable salary? For working on a farm in Florida?

Fl is being hit by UF/IFAS Citrus Extension: Plant Pathology and it's hurting farmers. Can't see where wages farming oranges will be available.

We have a huge number of migrant workers keeping wages down as well.

Doesn't seem like a profession worth entering. Good luck!

Acceptable salary and farm work just don't happen together - not in Florida anyway.

Florida is not the place. States like PA, NC, VA, MD and NY (western and upstate) are more in keeping with places where you can find an affordable cost of living and farm employment opportunities. I'm a former Farmers Market Manager and have a good working knowledge of farming on the east coast.

I would suggest the horse ranches on Louisiana, East and Northeast Texas. Good horse trainer can do well. However, for crop work, farm work, they hire illegals.

about 12 years ago, I used to work on a ranch here in clermont. Back then, the COL was a bit lower in this town. There are still plenty of ranches and farms in this state where you could work, and plenty of spots where living is affordable. It will just depend on what kind of ranch/farm you want to work on, and the type of work you are looking for.

Around Ocala and north there would be a lot of options for you. COL is significantly lower than the rest of the state.
Also in the Heartland there is quite a bit of farms.
