I am thinking my retirement in FL. the place should have a big lake, (because FL doesn't have mountain ... ) . morning or evening I can go out for a walk along the lake, certainly should be safely. not that far away from hospital and supermarket.(within 10 minutes drive). Orlando area will be perfect. not that much traffic or tourists , quite, small and safe town.

no condo. prefer single house less than 300K. We are Chinese, so if there is a big Chinese supermarket around there, will be perfect.

Any recommendation please ?

Thanks, Ed

If you're looking to get away from traffic and tourists (along with lower crime) in the Orlando area still close to a Chinese market, check out the Wekiva Springs area in Longwood/Altamonte Springs next to Lake Brantley. It's 20 minutes from a large Chinese supermarket and a beautiful, established area that's safe and not crowded with plenty of home options under 300K.

Thanks, kyle19125.

Does the Lake Brantley have trail along with it ? if yes, how long it is ? 1 mile ? usually how long it will take to walk a full trail ?

I love the supermarket and this is what I am looking for. From Google Map, it is very closed to Lake Fairview, what about this lake and its surrounding area ?

Best Regards. Ed

Thanks smarino for still remembering the DC. DC is too cold for us and I believe that virtual technology will make library access easier, checkout book online and read online ...

Why not consider the Tampa Bay area/Gulf Coast?

Valencia Lakes in Tampa, Florida - A GL Homes Community

Around a huge lake. Very close beautiful expansive library, shopping, 40 mins from top rated airport and cultural activities. Other Asians in community. Safe. Two hospitals and ample number of doctors' offices/clinics nearby (10 mins or less). Several new and established grocery nearby (Walmart, Publix, Aldi, Winn Dixie). Single houses as well as condo/villas. No Chinese grocery nearby, unfortunately.

That and golf is about the only thing to do there, but hey, to each his own. The housing is cheap and there is a couple of hospital systems there

I by no means recommended it - pretty slow area. The kind of place you'd go when you're done doing stuff in life - someday I'll be ready for it
