Not always.. Baldwin County, AL is doing much better than the western panhandle counties lately.

I've been through Baldwin County before. As long as you stay away from the coasts, it's still good. Only areas the developers are trying to ruin are near the coasts. Saw lots of cookie cutter subdivisions & bland commercial development in Daphne, Fairhope, & Foley, but as long as you stayed north of Foley, & east of 59, it was still small towns & undeveloped land which still felt southern.
