Once you are 30-40 minutes west or south (maybe north too) of Jacksonville you can really be out in the sticks.

North Port is a small town, out in North Port Estates is pretty countryish. It's close to I-75 for an easy commute to Ft Myers or Sarasota.

Possibly the Ruskin area, or even in north Manatee County. Easy commute to Tampa and many parts can be very rural. Check out Duette or some parts of Parrish (where I am).

Martin County...
Country living with access to both I-95 and the Turnpike. Armellini (flowers) is always hiring operators or drivers. One of my neighbors does the very thing you ask... he is on 10 acres, keeps his (2) rigs at the house and has about 10 head of cattle, horses, etc. Runs citrus during the season, hauls sod, palm trees... local runs.... and he's home on most weekends. |

You could check out Alva or even Labelle.

thank you all, i had someone tell me Ocala was nice do any of you know anything about it?

Yes. Outside the city limits of Ocala is really nice. There's a lot of horse farms in Ocala and in fact the welcome sign says Horse Capital of the World. I live in Citrus county (inverness) just about 20 minutes from Ocala and we are a much small city, less hectic traffic wise as HWY 200 is now 6 lanes and bumper to bumper all the time. there are some areas in my area as well especially between Inverness and heading towards Brooksville that i like because it's a lot of open land with some rolling pastures and horse farms. What kind of trucking job are you looking for? I know in Brooksville there are some rock hauling, concrete trucking and old mining trucking out there. From Inverness to Brooksville is a 20-25 minute drive as well.

well you shouldn't have much problem finding that kind of job around here. I always see ads in the paper looking for drivers.
