Finally moving to Florida next fall, the only question is where. We are a young married couple from South Dakota that is going to welcome our first baby this spring. My husband is an army vet that is in the construction industry and I am planing on finishing my bachelors degree in construction management and engineering. He used to live in Fort Walton Beach area and liked it and I like that part of Florida since its next to all the nice beaches and that is very important to us.. But I would want to hear some different opinions on where it would be ideal.

Thank you

I would recommend Pensacola since the University of West Florida offers a B.S. in Construction Management and is located on the north side of town. If you want a coastal vibe check out Gulf Breeze which puts you a bit closer to school yet close to Pensacola Beach. Gulf Breeze is a very desirable area on does have some beach access at Gulf Islands National Seashore just to the east because it's part of a barrier island in Pensacola Bay.

Do you know anyone in Florida?
Have you both started applying for jobs or at least seeing what's available and what they pay is?

OP Should you decide to use a realtor - don't use one that solicits you randomly online... they're like vultures on this website.

My husband has a lot of army friends here and of course we're not moving until we're sure we have jobs. I've been looking at houses online but we were thinking we should rent for a few months until we decide on a house. I'm still not sure where we will decide to move but thank you guys on your ideas.
