On the island, a few block are closed but the bridge that runs over the intracoastal and along side of Mar a Lago onto the island remains opens as well as AIA south of the property. There is no retail or restaurants probably within a mile of the place so if there business is down, it has nothing to do with his presence there. Most people going to shop or to the restaurant on the island use the bridge to the north which is not effected by his visits. As to the small private airport in Lantana, yes it must close according to the Secret Service rules, how much revenue is being lost I have no idea. On the other hand, I do know money is being made by the downtown West Palm hotels and restaurants as the media sets up shop near the Cityplace complex every time he is in town. I have seen several on air reporters from MSNBS and FoxNews using the services in the area and those are only the one's I know. Add in support staff plus secret service personnel, etc. and I would say that downtown West Palm is okay with the visits. As to the waterways, the intracoastal waterway is patrolled by the Coast Guard but you still pass Mar A Lago as long as you stay out of the designated security area. As a local I will tell you his visits have little to no effect. BTW Air Force 1 turns into a tourist stop with people taking photos with the plane in the background every time he is in town.
I also live in WPB and I agree with this. There is little disruption when he is in town. I think this is much ado about nothing.

I actually use to live in WPB but moved to San Diego over a year ago, everyone I know back in the area said otherwise but you would have to be frequenting the island to notice it, the poor people probably won't see much. They must be chicken littles along with the Town of Palm Beach and the Palm Beach Post or you are part of the Trump PR crew.

If you ever had a need to fly between Marsh Harbour and Palm Beach your opinion would be different. There are a lot of people who rely on dependable daily flights to and from MH on Cherokee Air that now can't count on weekend flights. For most locals his frequent vacations are a non-event but for a small group of people who rely on the private aviation side of PBI for access and/or jobs, it's been a real burden.

He has actually accomplished very little, and the record isn't particularly admirable, whether you're talking about his past record - initiating 700 lawsuits, having the Justice Department crack down on him for his racism as a landlord, the sexual harassment - or his current record of bullying, threatening, and making proposals that show no understanding of basic American ideals. He's not even considered a good businessman

I wonder if the fighting is just his idea of an enjoyable power-play.

Permit signed today to start to build the Keystone Pipeline.

I will gladly take the next 4 years of Trump as a trade off for having endured the last 4 of Obama.

Now this is funny "He has actually accomplished very little". Which particular day of the week were you referring to? Whether u like him or not, to say that he has accomplished very little is just sour grapes of someone who has not yet recovered from the ultimate shock to the system that was delivered on Nov 8th.

Come on, the man is a Billionaire, father of 4 beautiful and highly educated children and the President of the greatest nation on the face of the earth, I would say that counts as some bigtime accomplishments for one persons lifetime. Now Hillary...there is a gal who has accomplished very little with what she has been given...a two time looser is what Hillary will go down as. The next 8yrs will be truly delightful, such a pleasure to have our country back. Ty...
