Unless in a highly sought after specialized position, it's difficult to get hired from out of town in most occupations. Quite frankly you might be better off applying to a university here to specialize further through a Master's degree or certification, and look for related work while here. Schools like FAU, FIU and UNF are in areas where finding work is more likely.

Look for applicable companies with offices in India and apply there. You might also consider companies in India who sell engineering services to Florida/U.S. firms - and get established there. Then you can apply direct to the company with some credibility - You might also look for Florida companies with major contracts in India - and apply direct to their program offices.

Otherwise, long-distance, international applications are going to be quite difficult and unlikely. You need to develop some type of a "hook." Think of it this way, under what conditions would an India-based company hire someone in Florida versus someone already in India? (If you can answer that question, you will have a better idea of the situation and a viable approach.

Most jobs will ask if you will ever need sponsorship or a visa to work in the US and won't consider applicants that need sponsorship or a work visa.
