Yes, kid stuff in Key West
For truebluexf;
I hope you haven't given up on this board, i just joined and saw this post - because i have three kids 8-15 and there's things to do for kids. I'm enrolling my kids in camps now. My oldest is going to Film Camp, taught by a UofM professor, my youngest to tennis (call Bayview Park) and swimming lessons (call Red Cross or the Florida Keys Community College, they have swim teams too) and the Mel Fisher Museum camp (call the Mel Fisher museum or check online, ages 5-12) and not sure about the middle one, probably karate or art, he likes to stay home and play video games. There's also camps to learn to sail, marine camp, gymnastics just opened up a program for the summer, my daughter may go there too. Depending on the ages, Key West has things to do, mine don't play sports but if yours do, there's a lot for that.

Living with kids in Key West
For the family moving to Key West;
I have 3 kids ages 8-15 in Key West, there's things to do, lots of kids in the area. Last summer my youngest two took tennis at Bayview Park and swimming, probably will again, there's a city pool and a pool at the college; my oldest son is going to Film Camp (its in Marathon but they have a bus from Key West). They have the Mel Fisher museum with really interesting programs, the library has stuff for kids, there's free art programs, free movies for kids with giveaways of bikes, when you get there, you'll find things.
(I just joined, think i did my last post incorrectly... I'm going to try and put my email into the settings so if you want to contact me when you move, please do! we're away now but will be back in KW June 15)

Hey small world - we are relocating to the Keys with the military as well. I was trying to find the same sort of information but it seems like online -they only have vacation info. I plan on finding more info once we get down there. When are you moving?

No, Key West is not for children at all. It used to be, but the city has gone downhill since the Fantasy Fest started in 1979, there is nothing at all for children to do. Trust me, I know, I'm 61 years old, I was born and raised here. It's sad how Key West doesn't have anything for the little kids. ):-(

Key West for a Month
I hope you're enjoying yourself in Key West! My family and I are renting a house there for a month this summer. I have signed up my 13 yr old for Tennis Lessons via Island Tennis and signed him up for a 3 week Children's Theatre Workshop at the Children's Theatre. Please let me know if you have found some other activities. Thanks so much for this thread!!
