For one I have seen personally everything you posted and more.

Those picture mean nothing, go to south side of chicage or east st louis and those picture look good to those people.

Showing pictures without comparision means ziltch.

All states have htis problem at least the majority or the smarter ones in Florida know how to avoid these areas, we all got them, not just Florida.

This is NOT the face of Florida and is not rampant like I see in Chicago, Baltimore or St Loius every time I visit.

I have been in Miami allot and you have to drive into the areas to see this as you do Cleveland Ohio. What most Floridians dont understand is the post baove said it well, we all got problems but you got more positives to outweight the negatives we all have in our state.

Again, I alway say if its bad where you are MOVE.

If you only knew what we have been through in those cities a problem in Alt. Springs looks like a piece of cake.

I am not getting into detail as it is in one of my post earlier, the incident in Baltimore a few years ago we were involved in would make you either have a heart attack or wet your pants.

Driving through and area and taking pictures is easy, I can drive into Columbus Ohio and beat the heck out of those pictures. And Columbus has nothing on the cities I mentioned.

I take my chances, Florida has a huge advantage on everyone with all the positives that other states do not have. Sure, they have the negatives, but no state can compare with the positives.

I been there, done that seen it and been through it and I am 100% certain its is no more worse then anywhere else.

Been in the Bronzx, had some trouble there as well when someone told me to leave, NOW, you do not belong here.

I am yet to run into a single problem like this in any city in Florida and I am there allot. I know it can and may happen some day but it has been far worse for me in other states and cities.

I agree 100%!!! I come from Detroit. I am getting so fed up with people complaining about low paying jobs, crime, traffic, and everything else. Be happy you have a job as 30% of the people in Detroit are unemployed at the moment. You want to tell me Florida has a high crime rate compared to Detroit, St. Louis, etc. Obviously the people that complain about traffic have never been to Chicago, Atlanta, or New York. A lot of the people that complain about Florida probably were born here and don't know what other places around the country are actually like.

You guys are right...we have Disney, the beautifull beaches, more sunshine on average everyday then most places, but we do have the bad too.....there are things that everyone else says that we would just shrivle up and tuck our little scary florida tailz in at if we were in the northeast, but the same is true for people that come and settle down here ....there are things you would not be used to in your home state either.....we all have criminal elements .....but the difference is that in good nice looking areas with palm trees here you can get victimized on a regular basis where as if you were in the nice parts of most other places...and i say "most".....you dont have that as much as here.....hell even people are getting mudered right by disney at the Orlando ale house from drug deals gone bad or people get kiddnapped from disney parking lots and put in a trunk and get beaten....or near disney also a couple guys were driving by some lady in her car ....then fired a shot into her care and cut in front of her and made her pull over then took her out robbed her and put her in the trunk .....does this sound like the ghetto at all....no because it was close to disney property......i myself like most of us who live here dont really get scared to go to the disney area but we are cautious of these things....but tourists just like everyone ive seen replying to our "florida" issues say different then what we know by living here....no i dont live near the ghetto..and i do have a certain sense of needing to watch my back though....guess every nice area in other cities has fears of being kiddnapped and robbed on a daily basis .......u just don't get it until u move to our newer "looking" state......u can visit all you want and tell me stuff as if i have never been out of state or lived anywhere else .....why would i compare if ive never seen anything else?....wouldnt that be kinda dumb?......guess im just closed minded to think that the statistics are of no use looking at crime rate......i already stated that there are places i wouldnt travel to.....but people always have this vision of Florida which is not the place most floridians actually live in......post other pics on your cities page and i will look at what you are trying to prove and bring crime stats and stories too and i will check em out....thanx

Show us those pics....please so i can be humbled......we didn't start this page to talk about other states ....we are talking about Florida and the people who live here and what we see and go through that is negative....

Now you know we are one of the top states for crime by looking at statistics.....now if people knew in thier hearts that Florida didnt have a bad crime problem then why would we be compared to Detroit or Chicago or St. Louis or NYC....or any of these other "scary" places?......

If we were on the Idaho board and i was from Idaho.....would you really compare Idaho with these other places to prove a point?....The only reason there are so mAny people from out of state that are blind to what we see is because everyone that just visits here or lives in nice communities in rich areas are blind to the reality of a place being so pretty and actually having a high crime rate and ghettos in which middle class and poor people see everyday in Florida....

anyone can say they have worse pictures or have seen worse on the internet, but we need to see those pics if this is going to be about Florida vs. Every rough non-florida ghetto there is....this all started with only "Floridians" telling of thier experiences here.....then it went to outsiders bashing our stories for some reason........if i want to compare some places to Florida....of coarse there are nicer or worse anywhere you go, but even if there are nicer or worse places...it's really about the people who actually see the negative really happen in those places because they are the only ones who are dealing with the problems everyone fears from in thier minds....

I just read this on the St. Louis forum.....this guy is from St.Louis but now lives in Florida and this was his personal experience of both places....you can click over to the St.Louis page and read on the subject of "St.Louis , number one in crime?".....i believe that is the title but here is what this guys says and he's lived both places...

"Having grown up in St. Louis (St. Charles county, actually), but currently living in Florida, I can say St. Louis is much safer than Florida, even places like Fort Myers and Naples. The crimes stays in certain areas of St. Louis, and those areas are few in number. In Florida, you can become the victim of a violent crime ANYWHERE. It doesn't matter if you live in downtown Miami or in LaBelle, you're a potential victim."

.
1) Ive never been in a cross fire......

2) but ive seen gangfights in a suburb of Miami called Miami Lakes at main street in the 90's when thugs used to spend friday nights there.....

3) i saw my brother coming in at 2 in tha morning from getting jumped by some gang he didnt know who it was....his jaw was broken and that was a suburb of Miami.....

4) i used ta be the one tossing city-******* into car windows for fun in Hialeah as a teen....it was wrong i know that now but i used to have friends that did this stuff just cuz we were bored....and i am sorry i did it now....

5) never had my car spray painted at a stop light because i never stop at a stop light in tha ghetto cuz you can get jacked.....

6) never had my tires slashed ...i always look outside at my car when waiting in line at the 7-11....i did however slash some dudes tires when i was young and immature.......

7) i was forced into my car by some redneck thugs in Nashville because i had i Miami jersey on and there was about 15 of them and only me so i just said i didnt want to get jumped so i got in my car and left after the guy said he was a bad boy and showed me a scar where he had been shot.....i was alone and cant fight 15 people so i did what he said and left......and went back to my 400 dollar a month apartment in Nashville........

8)i always see homeless people walking through downtown Orlando on my way to the club....there is always a bunch of them out there ...ask anyone......some ask for money ....so what...i give them a couple dollars if no one else is around and the cops are there.....if they are in a dark place i just keep moving....its that easy.....my brother was living out of his car for about 3 years and living at swimming pools or different peoples houses or on the street when he was 15 and me and my family lived out of a station wagon for a while when i was young ........so whats the big deal....homeless people dont usually wanna threaten you since they have been starving and are kinda weak from not eating.....they just want food or money to drink..thats all most of them want....they dont scare me .....the ones that you should look out for are the thugs that stand in groups on side streets in downtown Orlando looking to sell drugs or rob someone.......but thats why they have the law in Florida that states..."if you feel your life is in danger that you can kill the person who is threatening you in a deadly way"....and you dont go to jail.....do they have that law in any other states?......they might or might not....i dont know but thats how it is here.....

Yeah i have to agree that Detroit isnt a place that i would look at to leave Florida ...I think Detroit or New Orleans are the 2 scariest cities and ghettos in the U.S......but ive heard that New Orleans is beautifull also in some areas.....because of the culture there......and Most people i meet from Detroit seem pretty real and humble and they are it is the same usually when i meet someone from Chicago too........but don't overlook our problems in Florida too......Remember Miami in the 80's?"Paradise Lost"......there's not too many places in the U.S. that can claim they have been through those kinda times and experiences..i know L.A. has had its problems and Detroit has always been kinda rough at least as far as i remember...and Chicago was the gangland capital in the old days.....sure NYC had many problems in the 70's and 80's with violence too....but nowadays its a new world and most of the southern and midwest states have the most dangerous cities....and that is fact......if you are coming from the northeast....of coarse you have issues with crime but not like small towns in the south and midwest ghettos or even the streets of Florida ......"that's nowadays"....
