Considering we had 4 or 5 days above 100 in a row in Monterrey, Mexico from Friday-Monday (we're I'm at for the week).. I'd easily take 90 over wind chills 10 below.... brr!

Neither. They are both the same, bad. Both these comparisons are miserable no doubt about it. I think that there is a compromise some place on this planet, a place like San Fran that has year round 50-70F temps. Or the Carolinas that have a mild winter usually and shorter summers. But Florida or Northeast both have bad weather overall. I live in South Florida and getting outside and exercising or doing yard work from May through Nov is a nightmare. And those in the Northeast the November through March if not longer are a nightmare. So both really bad, one isn't better than the other. The in between is the better choice.
But if I had to pick one, the cold for sure. You can buddle up. You can't cool off outside when its 90+ and humid.

I'll take the heat and humidity anytime over the cold weather.. Experienced North Dakota (86 below)/Iceland , rather stay south and use the AC....

I remember a winter in the Chicago area in the 1980's, the wind chill was 88 below car didn't start, of course. When I got inside after 5 min out I felt like if I fell down my body would shatter into a million pieces...Lips wouldn't work, so had a speech impediment for at least an hour.
Give me 90's and I'm happy and not going back there to do that again..

They're both the same to me. I think the wind chill is better. It's annoying as anything, but you can deal with it. You can always put on lots of layers to keep you warm, but with 90 and humid, there's only so many clothes you can take off. I get really weak and tired when it's above 90. I lived in Maine for a year for college and our wind chills got to -30. I didn't like it, but I bundled up and it was fine.

I like the heat...but all of these people responding that they prefer the heat are justifying their move to Florida. How many of them do you think live without AC in their cars, homes, and job when it is 90 and humid? None, except me. I dont have AC in my house, my car does, and I usually use it when it rains or if I am stuck in traffic at PM rush hour. I work at home and have fans, good ventialtion and shade in the yard, so I DO prefer the heat. But I know most people who claim to enjoy it really don't. We have the same long hot season like you have the long cold season. You just have to pick the lesser of the two evils. Rarely will someone actually enjoy either of the two.

Er, no, even when I lived in Illinois, I preferred the summers. It wasn't MY choice to move...but here I am.

I agree,I don't like either of the extremes.Give me 3 months with highs in the 80's and 3 months with highs in the 50's and lows in the 20's and the rest of the year somewhere in the middle.I think the problem with the heat here is that it lasts for too long,I think even in the northeast they don't get temperatures that are ridiculously cold for as long as we get ridiculously hot temperatures, they have spring and autumn while we have an 8 month summer 1.5 month spring,1.5 month autumn and a 1 month winter,if that!!!

Actually it is...we have had snow in October...one year when I lived in MA we had 18 inches of snow on Oct. 4th. It was a freak storm but it's common to have snow flurries in October. I have also seen snow flurries around the 1st of May in MA. So that's actually 8 months of the year you have the potential of seeing snow. As for below zero...you are really only talking Dec. through March to have a potential for that but that's 4 months too long.

A lot depends on if you must spend a lot of time outside.
If you dont have to work outside in the elements, Florida is a much better choice. Stay in the AC and go to an airconditioned car and that is much easier than dealing with the severe cold up north.
Your car doesnt have to have the strong battery to start in the morning, You dont have to drive in the snow, you dont need all those winter clothes. You dont have to get bundled up just to step outside.
If you work outside, Florida is not that nice, except in the winter, late fall and early spring.
Summers can be bad unless you can handle the heat and humidity.
Today was a perfect spring day. It has cooled off from the mid 80s yesterday to the mid 70s with low humidity. A great day to work outside.
The coldest day this year up here in North Florida was in January but still made it to the low 50s which was bone chilling to us but cant compare is the norm up north.
I saw where it barely makes it above freezing in Detroit so far this March.
I will take Florida anyday.

Up here in Maine I would be in shorts and a t-shirt if it was in the 50s right now!! It's in the 20s and 30s for highs and today we had sustained 20 MPH winds with gusts to 50 which means the wind chills were in the single numbers.
I will take 90s any day over this.
