Default Naples

What's Naples like? I feel like it's so underrated in comparison to many of the other cities in Florida.

What are the demographics?

I love Naples I'm vacationing here right now before I relocate back.. What exactly are you looking for about Naples? Give some specific questions it makes it easier casue we can go on and on about anything.. You'll find a lot of people here have a lot of bad things to say about Naples but keep in to consideration usually those people came here becasue they had to (ie job relocation, health issues etc) not becasue they wanted to..

What is it like there in the summer? Is it as humid as most of FL?

Yes it's humid, but so is all of Florida. It's not that bad. It's definitely the classiest, most European-like city in Florida, and not too much bad can be said about it except of course, by those who cannot afford it. You get what you pay for in Naples-culture, shopping, dining, and a surprisingly well kept natural beauty that has been preserved throughout all of the development. I'm biased since I own a home there, but I've been all over Florida and the US, and it truly is a special place.

What's nightlife like? Are there many young people? Good beaches nearby? How easy is it to get around? What other city is it comparable to, in terms of size...and even vibe?

Naples is primarily a town for wealthy retirees, run by wealthy retirees.

There is little nightlife and what there is tends to be expensive. My daughter
(23) can't wait to move away.

There are nice beaches.

Is it easy to get around, although season traffic is rough. There is perpetual construction somewhere always.

The population is about 300,000 year round, many more in the winter.

That's quite an arrogant & condescending statement yet also a great example of the tone many are so desparate to have in the area for some reason.

We could afford to live there but we prefer a mix of demographics & a more family oriented city. Naples does not offer such.

The best way to get a feel for Naples is to visit, it offers something for everyone and a vacation here might do you good to see if its something you're really looking for in a place to settle

Being on a vacation here and living here are two different things! You have heard the saying, 'it is a nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live here'? Not saying anything bad about Naples, but I do not think the vacation experience mirrors, in any way, the living experience. Because this is such a touristy town, and vacationers are numerous, there are many things geared towards vacationers that, as a resident, you do not do and vice versa.
