I'm from Missouri and the gun laws are far looser up there. In Missouri you have permit less concealed carry meaning you do not need to get a permit to carry a firearm. Those 18 and older can carry concealed without a permit. Missouri also is an open carry state as well and no waiting periods or anything.
Any gun owner should be required to carry liability insurance for misuse of their firearm

Again you are holding the law abiding responsible for what CRIMINALS are doing! FYI hand guns are responsible for a lot more deaths than rifles! Also, the AR-15 was created as a hunting rifle first! The military saw it and had it modified for their use.

Assault weapons need to banned ASAP in this country. When we had an assault weapons ban in the 90's, gun deaths from them dropped by 37%. That's huge. As soon as the ban was lifted in 2004, related deaths nearly DOUBLED.

It makes NO sense to expect our entire society to bend over backwards to accommodate gun nuts by wearing clear backpacks, having metal detectors, armed teachers, etc, just so a few grown men can own an assault weapon in their house. Where are our priorities?! Are we really going to be a nation that says that someone's right to own a killing machine is more important than our childrens' right to feel safe in a school?!

Shame on this country for doing nothing about it. As a new resident of Florida, yes, I will absolutely vote 100% BLUE in November. This state has a plethora of problems from severely underfunded schools to poverty wages to total disregard for climate change matters, etc. Rick Scott has failed this state. It's time for a CHANGE.

Criminals abuse cars too yet car owners are required to carry liability insurance.

Why are YOU trying to shirk your personal liability?

Except it's true. Mass shootings decreased under the AWB in the 90s

Exactly.

The Second Amendment was not intended for civilians to be able to terrorize their communities. It was intended for a well regulated militia.

Apply the same standard to gun owners, including those who have a ccw in public. Victims should be able to sue gun owners who don't properly secure their weapons and them to be misused in public. Hence the need for liability insurance. Sandy Hook was a clear example

Why are gun nuts so inconsistent about guns vs other objects that can be used to kill?
