I know a few people who have moved back north, to work in NYC. They end up in Connecticut, or Upstate NY. The goal for many is to stack up some savings and go back home. Even the lowest paying jobs are paying $15 per hour . Most have told me the main reason is the lack of better paying jobs. Regular 9 to 5 work pays too little, and part time.

Got to wondering is any one leaving Florida? as with the apparent endless relocation to Florida its getting really crowded.
I left a long time ago for a job that i couldnt refuse however had that job not come along i'm sure i would have left Florida anyway as i'm one of those people who doesnt tolerate heat and humidity too well.

Why would Cuba have any relevance to whether you stay in Florida or not?

That is where i wanted to move for years. More rain and hurricanes and better offshore fishing.

If Yellowstone blows, I doubt than many of us should worry at all....since the after effects of that natural disaster and the public scenario/ mass chaos that would surely follow> =direct cause of a large percentage of the population to buy the family farm so to speak

Most likely a mass extinction event in the US...not the end of life on the continent, but a large part of the US.

So stay cozy in Florida, who knows? Depends on how the wind blows around all that pot ash

We left in July to move to NC. I had lived there for 34 years, my husband 17 years. We doubted ourselves for about 3 weeks.. Thought about going back , even looked for some jobs. Wasn't about the weather but some other things popped up including family matters....

We came to our sense and I can't even believe we thought about going back at all.... Not living in endless summer, extremely high housing, endless snowbird crowding and seeing more people UNDER 40 than over 70 is wonderful. We are driving back tomorrow for a family visit and I'm dreading it. We've decided we're gonna leave Fla 5 days earlier than intended to come back here early and enjoy the warmer weather and endless parks.. I'd move further north before I EVER moved back to Fla.

After a life spent mostly in Florida we traded the Sunshine State for Eastern Washington two years ago. Wish we'd made the move sooner.

I moved back to Indiana after 43 years in the Miami area. I wish that I had made the move 20 years ago.
