...and after all these words, FLORIDA IS STILL #1 on the environment!!!!! The Libs are DENIERS that Florida's CO2 performance is the model for the rest of America to follow. Their envy is obvious. They are ashamed of their home states (like Ohio ranked 47th!), so just will not talk about 2,300 fracking wells there, 4 oil refieneries, 2 Ethane Crackers underway, Hundreds of Superfund sites, Algae in Lake Erie.

Instead they attemt to steer the discussion away from the filth they created up North. They are NOT distracting me from it. I KNOW what they've done in their own backyards.

beach, you'll love this one

Rankings: Total Energy Consumed per Capita, 2016 (million Btu) by state

Florida is at the very bottom of the list.....number 46

So how about some consistency in the denier community? What matters most, total carbon dioxide emissions within a geopolitical entity, or carbon dioxide emissions per capita?

Man-made climate change science deniers can't even keep their propaganda points coherent.

Deniers attack China as the largest source of carbon dioxide emissions, but conveniently ignore that U.S. emissions in 2016 were almost 20 percent greater than the COMBINED TOTAL of the next two largest national sources of carbon dioxide emissions -- India and Russia. The combined populations of India and Russia are over 4.5 times as great as the U.S. So even by total national carbon dioxide emissions, the U.S. should be scorned for its out-sized impact on man-made climate change, even ignoring the even greater culpability of the U.S. on cumulative historical carbon dioxide emissions.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...xide_emissions

https://ourworldindata.org/co2-and-o...cumulative-co2

While the large majority of nations in the world attempt to transition away from fossil fuel consumption, the Trump administration and Congressional deniers work to increase fossil fuel consumption and production in the U.S.

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/...emissions.html

https://www.npr.org/2018/12/06/67425...ew-coal-plants

As for Florida, it is fourth in the nation in total carbon dioxide emissions, despite having no or very limited fossil fuel consumption. See page 6 in the following U.S. Energy Information Administration report.

https://www.eia.gov/environment/emis...teanalysis.pdf

Even in per capita emissions, Florida is only the 12th lowest state (not sixth lowest as claimed by a denier in the quoted post above), with significantly higher per capita emissions than even California, which has significant fossil fuel consumption. See page 8 in the above report.

Like the U.S. with its great imports of manufactured goods, Florida relies on imports of manufactured goods lowering its carbon dioxide emissions far below the levels that would exist if Florida had a more robust manufacturing sector. E.g., the U.S. effectively "exports" carbon dioxide emissions to China, other Asian nations, and Mexico, while Florida exports carbon dioxide emissions both to other nations and to other states.

States with high levels of fossil fuel production have elevated levels of carbon dioxide emissions. As Florida is almost entirely dependent on fossil fuel imports, it also exports carbon dioxide emissions to entities producing the fossil fuels that Florida gulps down.

The obfuscations and prevarications that typify denier discussions of carbon dioxide emissions per political entity, and especially for Florida, are profoundly disgusting.

...and Florida's still #1, and you are still wasting your time and energy trying to improve a State that is already #1 rather than going after the real problems....China, India, Ohio, Louisiana. You are in DENIAL!

sea level rise accelerating.....scam....you can cherry pick any dates and show sea level up, down, or sideways...sea level rise has returned right back to where it was

ocean acidification....scam.....modern corals, coccoliths, plankton, and calcareous algae, etc....all evolved when CO2 was 4 to 6 times higher than it is now...and the planet was a whole lot warmer

UN/IPCC reports....scam.....all the countries in the UN, that are voting against the USA....and voting for global warming
.....can not only increase their CO2 emissions....but get paid to increase their emissions...they vote to make the USA pay them

No doubt you'll enjoy your self-delusions right up until the moment that you bail on Florida.

What a bunch of straw man fallacies.....I have a pimple on my butt.....global warming

How stupid and gullible does someone have to be....to fall for 8/10 th of a degree rise in temperature causes armageddon

Do you deny that scientists warn that temperatures in the cryosphere now are more regularly and intensely exceeding the melting point of ice?

Scientists are warning that historical rates of sea level rise will be "dwarfed" in the years ahead by accelerating rates of ice melt and sea level rise. See posts 26, 28, 39 and 51 in this thread.

Falsehood regarding the cryosphere where the ice is melting at an accelerating rate.

The rate of global warming in the Arctic region is twice the global rate and up 1.7 degrees Celsius over the 1981-2010 average. This is equal to over 3 degrees F. The NOAA 2018 to its Arctic report, quoted in post 30 here:

http://www.city-data.com/forum/miami...-levels-3.html

Read through the thread about the impact of exponentially accelerating ice melt now that temperatures are more regularly and intensely above the ice melting point. See posts 26 and 39.

The lead author of a landmark Greenland ice melt research study released in early December said the future ice melt and sea level rise in coming years will dwarf what has been seen in the recent past. See post 45 in the above link.

http://www.city-data.com/forum/miami...-levels-3.html

You've been told this repeatedly, but continue to obfuscate, prevaricate, and ignore the very disturbing recent scientific reports. Such is the life of a "Big Lie" man-made climate change science denier.
