Default If your really mad about your homeowners insurance....

I know that there are some people that have not been affected by the outrageous insurance rate increases in Florida, but for those of you who have it is time to stop complaining and do something about it! The Special Session that has been called for January 16th is the BEST way I know how to show these legislators I wand some changes. I want Senate Bill 1980 REPEALED so we do not face another 200% rate increase (600% to 900% if you are a small business owner) I want affodable coverage that actually covers me if I do have a claim. (I have never had a claim in the 20 years I have owned a home) I don't want to have to ala-carte my insurance to lower it. Anyway...I plan to be on the steps of the Capitol on January 16th and I suggest everyone else that is mad about their outrageous rates should do the same! Be a part of the solution & stand up for your rights for fair and reasonable insurance rates in this state!!!

That's the spirit. I've never criticized other posters on this board because I think many of their complaints about certain aspects of Florida life are valid. But it seems that if more people shifted their energy into working to improve things, change for the better just MIGHT be the end result. If you're mad about homeowners insurance, write, call or e-mail as many state senators and representatives as you can, or go to Tallahassee for the special session. I think this is something worth getting off the couch and fighting for.

Too bad that in this state they put the capitol city 8 hours away from those of us in the south, No wonder they get away with trampling all over our rights. Oh I am still trying to organize a protest in Monroe county for property taxes. Everyone spends all their time working ( I am so guilty of this) so the day may never come that we can raise hell at the pirates den.
