Moving to Leesburg, FL? Maybe
Hi, I'm suppose to be moving to Leesburg, FL with my best friend in Feb. but I want to know something/anything about this city. I want to know what life there is like. I've never been outside of North Carolina before and I want to know would moving to Leesburg be the right thing to do. It wouldn't be for forever just for a little while. Can anyone tell me what the nightlife is like. What the job outlook is like(I'm in healthcare). What about the dating scene. Any information would be appreciated. Thank You.

Do yourself a favor and visit before moving. Leesburg is not the best town in Lake County IMO. It has become rundown in many (most) areas. There are nice places outside of town or in nearby towns. For nightlife, I would suggest the Orlando area. Guess it kinda depends on what you want in your nightlife! As for the healthcare field, there are some good hospitals in the Leesburg area -- some rather new ones and lots of drs. offices. But I wouldn't even think about moving, ANYWHERE, without checking it out first.

Yes, Take FL_TN_Nana's advice!!!!!!
I would say that Maybe Eustis or Tavares is a better choice, if looking for that particular area.

Think twice before moving to Leesburg if you are under 40. It's a retirement community and there isn't much for younger people. The traffic gets as snarled as Orlando if not worse because there are many slow drivers. (Retirees aren't in a hurry) Constructiuon on 441 east of Leesburg has made rush hour a disaster. I used to live in Leesburg for many years but I like Eustis better. You can get a job just about anywhere in Central Florida in health care.

I think you maybe right as far as Eustis. I live in Eustis. As far as health care in Eustis the Waterman Hospital is a biggie

Leesburg
There's always The Redhouse and Marty's for nighlife. (If they still exist) I moved there when I was 22 and have to admit it wasnt the best place to live. Now Im 40 and Im so glad I dont live there. Lady Lake was run down with souvenier shops and body part shops however, the BEST italian restaurant is up on your left hand side, Mom & Dad's....OMG & Holy ****! The very best italian EVER! Anyway, Weirsdale is nice, I lived on Marion County Rd...nice area but havent been there in about 8 years. Overall, not a bad area but you could do better.

Lake County and LEESBURG FLORIDA
Here is a little help for you about our city... I have been a resident of Lake County for 12 years now... Yes it can be a significant shock if you are not used to Retirees and Smaller Towns. The Leesburg Bikefest is hosted in Yearly and they do very well! Downtown leesburg is fun with its big scaled small town events. I do find that there tends to be difficulty in singles area unless you like to live at bars.
I know there is new addition to the county... Active & Athletic of Central Florida based out of the Leesburg Area. They are helping middle aged people and those in thier 20's to find a place to exercise, get active, and enjoy life.
If you are interested in this, check them out...
