Volunteer for a candidate you believe in, join the Sierra Club right here in Osprey along 41, or volunteer at the Sarasota Bay Estuary Program on Orange Street Downtown SRQ (see links below).

The only way to save the environment is to transition away from fossil fuel consumption. Cleaning up areas that will be inundated in a few decades, if not sooner, is meaningless.

Reducing toxic algal blooms also will require tough environmental regulations to reduce the nutrient load. Rick Scott and other Republicans have opposed tougher environmental controls, such as with septic tanks, agriculture, even lawn fertilizers, as documented repeatedly in Florida forums.

Deniers such as yourself certainly don't want reductions in fossil fuel consumption, and care nothing about the dire consequences of the resulting massive carbon dioxide emissions accumulating in the atmosphere and oceans. For the umpteenth time, why NOT???

The election of Andrew Gillum and the rejection of denier Ron DeSantis is a massive step towards dealing with man-made climate change as it will shift the debate in a positive direction, even if Republican legislators continue to fight against the needed changes in policy.

So what precisely are you going to do to make those things happen? Sitting in that chair isn't doing any good whatsoever.

Well, to be truthful, we can give donations from the recliner chair.

I kid you not to say I have given priceless amounts (more than you would possibly believe) to the Sierra Club. Really. Truly. Stuff worth many many Millions of dollars.

Not up there with the guy from CA. and Bloomberg, but still.......

Hats off to you craigiri! I think it made a difference...it's another beautiful day in Florida today. I saw a lot more out of State plates today than yesterday. Their coming back to our glorious State again this year...as you likely will be too I suppose.

Please drive down in your new electric car...it could help WR's state of mind. He hasn't been well of late...spewing gibberish about Deer flatulance...or some such thing. Take him out for a ride on your sailboat..out past the Red Tide so he can see the Apocolype isn't here just yet.

It may be that flying down uses less in resources - I've worked it out before, but I'll try again.....otherwise, I am getting 45 MPG on my new ride, which isn't bad.

I promise I won't cut my sewer line and let it drain into the storm sewer. I also promise not to eat a single piece of cow or pig, therefore not supporting the runoff from them. Lastly, I will promise not to mine phosphates and export them nor to lobby the Gov. to be able to do so without cleaning up.

That's about all I can do at this point. Cast a vote for me since I don't get to do it in FL.
