What would it take for you to change your opinion on this subject?

Nothing, unless Florida sees Cat 6 hurricanes consistently every year and my house is 30 ft under water by 2050.

And there you have it: Religion.

Reasonable people will take new information as it becomes available, analyze it, then modify their opinion as is warranted. Zealots will not. There is no point in discourse with zealots.

What in your opinion can Florida do to stop hurricanes and rising sea levels?

If the entire state of Florida banned the sale of beef. Would that stop cows from being slaughtered on a world scale? Nope.

If the entire state of Florida banned cars. Would that stop sea levels from rising and hurricanes from forming? Nope.

This is my point. We can make our environment cleaner, but instead of implying that we as a state have the direct power to decide whether hurricanes form and sea levels rise is fantasy.

The difference now is technology. Natural disasters have been around forever. Why some people think they only just started recently is because we now have the internet, phones that can take pictures/videos, platforms to share such things, etc. Some people think crime is at record highs, but really it's not. It's just we now have the things listed above.

...oh please Elizabeth....$8 million to read a thermometer and write it down?...and $2 million directly paid for activism < PS....that's not research...Shirley you understand the difference LOL

The most powerful thing any of us can do is to elect politicians who take the issue and the overwhelming scientific evidence seriously. We need elected officials who are committed to finding solutions, not going out of their way to accelerate man made climate change. You guys are doing the opposite.

Finally you're right about something...

Believing in something that can't be seen, touched, proven....is the purest form of religion

Do you think astrophysics is voodoo?

Just because you don’t understand something doesn’t mean it’s not real.
