Ok i have a question i keep reading that housing is exp. and jobs don't pay well how does this work i only make 25k ( in memphis )and im wondering how i can afford to live there but if i made 50k but had to spend $2000/ monthly on a house how could i make it if 50% of your income goes to the house note i've looked elsewhere but was seriously considering fl should i change my mind. I am not needing the in place just somewhere decent and safe. Preferably short driving distance to beach 20 min.

The answer is you find a house you can afford. You get a mortgage that you can afford to pay. You simply cannot afford a $300,000 house on a $50,000 salary.

Check out North Port in SW Florida. There are plenty of newer homes in the $110,000-$150,000 range. It's 20 minutes from the beach. I think anywhere in Florida the job market is kind of grim. What is your occupation? People might have better suggestions if they new what your occupation is.

Yes you should and with the way prices are falling you can get some GREAT deals. Just avoid south florida as it is the most expensive. Tampa and Jacksonville are very reasonable.
