My wife and I currently live in a small town (12,000 people) about 45 miles south of Louisville, KY.
We're thinking of moving to Frostproof. Our plan is to buy some vacant land (at least a quarter acre, preferably closer to a half acre) and a new manufactured or modular home.
Given that we have 4 dogs and a cat, a park or over 55 community isn't for us.
We've found a great lot for sale in Frostproof, but can't seem to get a couple of very simple questions answered - the listing real estate agent claims she doesn't know the answers and can't understand how we can use tools such as Google street view to scope out an area. I think her mindset is circa 1985.
The Zillow ad for this lot (which is in city limits) says pets allowed yes, per city regulations.

What we would like to know is just what these pet restrictions are, and if a new manufactured home would be allowed. The homes on the street (and surrounding streets) were mostly built between 1945 and 1955.
There are a lot of empty lots where a home probably was. This particular lot probably had a house at some time, as there is a well (with a new pump/motor), septic, and electric (obviously needed to run a well).

We'd like to get as much information as we can before we plan a trip to look at any lots.

Can anyone steer us as to where we can find the regulations (pet and building) for Frostproof ?

FYI I've emailed people at city hall but they never reply.

I would call with the address/legal of the lot and ask

Building Department at the City (863-635-7851).
Code Enforcement (863-635-7855)

As Corrie said, definitely check with the building official for the city who appears to be Bob Lane at the number provided in that post above.

You can find the ordinances for Frostproof online at https://library.municode.com/fl/fros..._of_ordinances. There do not appear to be any restrictions on the number of pets. Nor does Polk County at quick glance of their animal control ordinance: https://apps.polk-county.net/ordinan...er1.ashx?Id=55

Man FL is such a rat race! I bet there will be 40 million people in the state by 2040! Absolute insanity....good luck! I much prefer the Louisville area.
