I think our definition of bigger cities differ. Greater Miami, greater Tampa, Orlando and Jacksonville are bigger cities...

Lol yeah, definitely different definitions. i live in a town of 8,000. so when I go into Ocala, a city of 60,000, it seems like a big City.

Cities like Orlando, Miami, etc... are in a category all of their own...

If you had read the whole thread he first asked about the larger cities, then expanded to any size town.

Is that because the bigger cities aren't that old?

Default My Favorite is Bartow!

I've lived in Florida for over 20 years and I love old towns! A couple that I really enjoy... Sanford Florida although some will say that it's becoming a small city. Then there is Bartow Florida. We stumbled across Bartow: https://britonthemove.com/bartow-florida/ due to a stay at the Streamsong Resort. I loved it so much we have been back a couple of times now. Most recently we went back specifically to visit The Wonder House: https://britonthemove.com/the-wonder-house I've met many Bartowans, there is a real sense of community here. The people are amazing and it's still an old sleepy town. Strongly recommend you visit here and check it out, downtown is adorable. Nikki

Jacksonville would be a good choice. The city was already a pretty sizeable city in the early 20th century and has historic Black neighborhoods like Durkeville and Lavilla. The City was established in 1822 so it was established pre-statehood.
