Florida favorite chain restaurant
Let us know your prefer chain restaurant in your area and tell us why.
For casual eating we enjoy Chili's restaurant for their friendly atmosphere and tasteful dishes. For formal outing we like Ruth's Chris Steak House, great steaks and superb customer service.

Well we don't eat out hardly at all anymore after realizing most of these chains allow their employees to touch the food with their bare hands. Sorry, not into getting sick... Lately I've been on a quest to find the ones that use gloves and after checking nearly every one on my travels during the day, I found only ONE so far - Wendy's (Hillsborough & Himes). Will definately go there again. Also a good idea to check the back door of your fav restaurant... you'll be amazed how many have it wide open and the garbage dumpster is right there within 10 feet. gross! Sorry my list has been dwindling rapidly.

I personally do not like chain restaurants (Chilis, TGI Fridays and the like), but once in a while I hit up a fast food joint. Now I no longer live in Florida, I miss Checkers. Specifically, their chicken sandwich and fries.

I like Appleby's. Unfortunately there's not one close to me anymore. For special occasions I like Arthurs 27, but I don't think it's a chain. It's on the 27th floor of the Buena Vista Palace Hotel and has spectacular food and one of the best views in Orlando. Each table is in a little alcove facing your own private window. If you time it right during the summer, you can view a beautiful sunset and then the fireworks show from Epcot.

Chefs in fine restaurants do not wear gloves, and people rarely get sick from eating there. Then again, you can probably count on those people washing their hands, and using the freshest ingredients--that's how I operate my own kitchen.
I am not crazy about chains but if feeling particularly carnivorous I do enjoy a Chili's cheeseburger.

We try and avoid chain restaurants with their cookie cutter, same anywhere meals. I want to say we avoid them like the plague but after reading the above comments I guess we do! Avoid them like the plague that is.

I happen to like the Golden Corral in Homestead. It's one of the rare buffet style places left in south Florida. Buffet is cheap, very fast and the people there tend to be friendly, they even remember me ! Never would I eat "fast food" it's good for inducing diarreah, that's it.

When you are traveling to an area that you are not familiar with, it is usually pretty safe to eat in major chain restaurant like maybe Bob Evans, Applebys, Macaroni Grill and many others.
Because of a couple of medical conditions, I like to eat where I know what the menu consists of and how it is usually prepared. Of course, there are major franchise restaurants in some areas that may not be up to standard but in all my travels, I have found that it is the exception. An IHOP in Hershey Pa was not too good when I ate there but I believe that it either went out of business or changed hands. I have never gone back. Most of theses chains are successful because people know the menu and what type of food and service they will get.
When you live in an area, you will know which local places are good and which one's to avoid.

Fla has a chain of restaurants that I just love, but can't remember the name of it now. It has fabulous chicken and dumplings and a lot of homemade food. It also has rocking chairs on their front porch and it's so southern and so quaint. Also, we love Ihop. They have the best pancakes and waffles.
