Default North Port & Venice area....thoughts on the area?

Looking at maybe living in North Port and working in Venice.

From what I hear, not too much goes on in these areas, but it's a nice place to raise a family. I read that the schools are good too.

Anything else I should know? Housing seems very affordable in North Port.

I live in North Port and love it! I have three children and they are very happy here as well. All of the schools in North Port are "A" rated schools except one. It is a fantastic place to raise a family.

North Port is 25 minutes to the beaches and like you have already figured out, the housing is extremely affordable as well.

There are some really good deals out there right now with the foreclosed property. There is new commercial construction on almost every corner, like Demogirl said a new Lowe's. There is also a Sports Authority, Beall's, and I heard a Starbucks coming in as well.
