If I may ask here, I will check out Oviedo myself, though have been looking online in Ocala and Fruitland Park, for at least .5 acre, up to 400k, need stable internet service. My worry in Ocala has been reading about unsafe places and sinkholes. Will be around in a few weeks to start search in earnest. I lived in Central Fl for 20+ years, have been in Houston for 5, and each time I visited, I knew I would not live in Orlando. Seems too congested. As always, thank you for any info, so helpful.

Fruitland Park is retiree central.
If you’re not over 55, you’ll probably hate it.

Hello,

Why would you not recommend Clermont? Budget: $450,000 for a $3,500 sq.ft. house.
I really wish I could find a condo or townhouse for that price. But it doesn't exist.

I consider myself a hermit type of person who likes his space, and I've traveled through the horse country of Ocala ---beautiful part of FL, imo. Not sure what the access to amenities, health care, etc is like though. Might bore the average person.
