I am a 25 year old guy in the military, and am currently stationed in alaska. my tour is almost up and im ready to thaw out. Im looking for a south florida beach town with alot of outdoor activities, affordable living, and a "laid back" bar scene, but most importantly not overly commercialized. Can anyone help me out?

Hollywood or Delray Beach. Pretty much all there is to it. Delray is a little expensive but Hollywood is relatively affordable by South FL standards because it is "up and coming".

I'd say check out the Keys, Jensen Beach, Sanibel. |

All very expensive except for Jensen.

Surfside is a nice beach town just north of Miami Beach. It doesn't really have a bar scene, but the bar scene is located pretty close; a short drive or busride down Collins Ave into South Beach.
