Default Any ex Canadians living here in FLorida?

I wonder how the cost of living will change for us if we move to Florida? The real estate taxes are already known but how about income tax, or any other tax I may not know about? What about medical insurance?
Thanks for any help.
Bruce in Winnipeg

I know this is an old thread but I am Canadian and planning to move to Florida on a work visa in the Fall. If anyone out there wants any additional info pertaining to this, just send me a message.

Living in Florida is cheap! What more can be said.

No income tax and a fair sales tax. In some parts of Canada the sales tax is 14%!! Property taxes are high but you will probably be renting, so this issue will not concern you. If your employer covers health insurance, you're all set. If not, a decent policy will probably be around $200 a month.

There are some amazing deals on rent due to the housing crash. Also a Wal-Mart Supercenter and Publix will provide everything you need to live well and affordable.

Welcome to Florida!

I was wondering the same thing. My son's COBRA payment for BCBS is over $300 a month!
