Default Citrus County

Does anyone know anything about the Beverly Hills or Inverness areas? Are these good places to live?

I've lived in Inverness for 8 years now. It's a very nice town i think. I enjoy the lakes and parks they offer. If i wasn't moving to go back north with my family because i miss them, i would stay here for a long time. Crime is very low, schools are very good and there's just enough variety of shopping around so you don't have to travel to the big cities to get it. What else would you like to know? Beverly Hills is going downhill. It's just a small drive through town but the crimes and drugs have been getting worse out there. It's centrally located for quick access to I-75, Florida turnpike and the Suncoast to get to Tampa and Orlando quick.

I am thinking about relocating to Florida, and a cousin who lives in the Jacksonville area suggested Ocala. I was looking online at that area, but was a little put-off by the number of "planned communities" and "over 55 communities" that I saw. I really don't want to be in a neighborhood with an aggressive homeowners association. So I started expanding my search outside the Ocala area, and ended up looking at Citrus County. My price range for a house would be around $100,000. I am interested in being close to hiking and biking trails, and not too far from restaurants and shopping. Everything looks good on-line - I'd prefer a first-hand opinion. I am flying down next week to get a better idea of the area. Do you think I could find a well-kept 2 br, 2 bath single family home in this area in my price range?

Umm... yes. we just put ours up for sale just last month by owner for $105,000 (negotiable). If your interested, send me a PM and i'll tell you how to look at it online. No pressure but i think i have what your looking for. I do live across the street from the lake and the biking/walking trail is less than 1/2 mile away. Yes, Ocala has ALOT of communities for the retired folks and to me is too big and busy on the roads for my everyday commute and it is only 25 minutes away if you need to go there for the mall. That's basically the only reason i go to Ocala because i hate driving in that kind of traffic.

northern NH. that's where i'm from. Moved to FL and been here 14 years. Really miss having the family around so i want to go back. I wish they would move here because i do like it down here but that's not going to happen since i was the only one in my family who moved away.
