Rental Residences in Gulf Breeze?
Help! I’m researching rental properties for my move to Gulf Breeze but I’m having trouble finding information. I don’t want to buy just yet and I can only find 2 places. Golf Villas was horribly reviewed and it looks old & run down. The other one is the Reserve and people said it was “in the middle of nowhere” and over priced. So naturally I’m looking for options. I thought about houses too but I’m single and don’t need a 3 bedroom spread at $950.00/month.
Does anyone know of any other places? Town homes, other apartments whatever! I did find one other place online called “Carriage House” on Bayshore but I can’t find any info on it and noone answers the phone # listed.
Any info would be so helpful!
Also, what life like for the single gal down there?

Katie, sorry you haven't had any response yet. I don't know much about Gulf Breeze (I'm researching a move to Pensacola or Pace), but maybe try to contact a realtor. Sometimes they have leads on rentals.
Another thought that crossed my mind is that you could contact the Human Resources department of the Baptist Hospital in Gulf Breeze. They probably have knowledge about rentals, as they may employ contract or travel nurses.

My boyfriend lived in Gulf Breeze for 10 years and his ex wife is a realtor there. He has described it as a little community where everyone knows everyone's business...lol...he loved it there and we are going to visit his kids for graduation in two weeks, he said I will love it there. The only thing I have heard negative from him about it is that if your not "upper class" or have money, it is hard to make it. We come from middle to upper lower class income families here in Oklahoma, or should I say "working class", there are alot of vacation type homes there, parties on the beach, I recall him talking about "blues on the beach" one night every week. from the pics that I have seen, it is beautiful, and we have talked about moving closer to his kids, but he is thinking Pensacola or Mobile area. He said the school system there is one of the best in Florida! Good luck to you in your move!

there are many listings here right now. Check out Craig's List. You are correct, there are many house for $$$ in Gulf Breeze. There are some room rental opportunities but watch out..the renter's only care about your money and the house may not be so cool after awhile.

Definitely check out Craigslist classifieds - craigslist
You'll find low rents in the Greenbriar area. There is a reason for that! I would suggest that you do some research on Craigslist, make a list of addresses/areas and then call the Sheriff's Office substation in Gulf Breeze (District One is what you want) and ask them about the street/area. Here is their number: 850-981-2270. Also, you might contact a local realtor. A lot of them are advertising on Craigslist as well.

you'll be fine if you like the beach. remember that you will be living in between two bridges so most of your time will be at the beach unless you want to drive into town....and there ain't nothing going on in the breeze.

Oh my! Thank you so, so much!!! That is so helpful! I'm originally from Mobile and grew up with a house on Dauphin Island so the beach is where my heart is =) This is going to be the toughest decision of my life and I wouldn't be able to make without advice from people who have first hand knowledge. Austin Texas (home now) is an awesome city. People are super nice and pretty, there's lots to do for all ages, a good energy, it's green and beautiful with lakes but it's getting over populated with smog and too much traffic. I think I want to come home and go fishin'.
To jteezcj: Tell your boyfriend DO NOT MOVE TO MOBILE!!!!!!! If you think your area is snobby? No way! Mobile wins the prize. If your not from old money or married to "the right family name" you can forget it! That's the first thing people want to know~what's your pedigree? I'm from the snobby part but I'm not like them that's why I went to Texas! I think I can fake it OK in Gulf Breeze even though I'm not rich...What do you think?
To soulohio & AustinTraveler: (from Austin?) I appreciate that advice I will contact a realtor and keep an eye on Craigs List. I have looked there quite a bit the last few days and so far most of the listings are the 3 bdroom $$$ homes that I don't need. Or dumps. Perhaps I'll find a nice little cottage. I'm in the early stages of planning right now. If all works out I hope to be there in 4 months. And thanks for the offer soulohio!
TXMOM! Thank you so much for getting this thread started for me! I was beginning to despair! Baptist Hospital in Gulf Breeze? Nice. I knew there was one in P'cola but not GB. And they do seem to go out of their way to keep that sort of community information for potential recruits.
So besides that are people active in GB? Do they get out and do stuff? How is the winter when the beach is out? I need all the help I can get with this decision!!!

lol! No Mobile huh? We actually live in Oklahoma right now, he moved here in May last year after a 10 year stay in Gulf Breeze, and I just moved back here from Michigan. We hate it here in OK and since his kids live in GB, we are looking into getting closer. I will be seeing Gulf Breeze for the first time in about a week and 1/2, we are leaving Oklahoma on the 30th this month. I will let ya know what I thought when I get back!
and yeah, you could probally fake it pretty good in Gulf Breeze, you will spend alot of time at the beach like soulohio said!

You're funny! Also about Mobile that facinates me is that in a "city" of a quarter of a million or whatever the people there just do not know how to entertain themselves (unless it's Mardi Gras). Nobody really gets out and exercises, there is no concerts (of relevance), no cultural center, no festivals I mean nothing!
And if you're in OK you are just up the street (i-35) from me down here in Austin =) man it's hot here today!
You will love GB! It has a groovy feel to it and the beaches are indescribably beautiful! I'm sure you've seen pictures. Ahhhhh....... Have a great trip =)

well, I certainly do NOT want to be anywhere that there is no entertainment!..lol I am ALL about the party, wherever it is..lol
yes, I have seen pics and I am afraid that once I get there and put my feet in the sand, my man is gonna have to hog tie me to bring me home...lol We are going there for his daughters graduation but he has it all planned out as a romantic thing for me also, as I have never been to the ocean. He said I have to watch a sunset and a sunrise from the beach. I cannot wait!
Anyway, good luck in your search for an apartment! I will keep ya in mind next week when I am there! add me on yahoo msngr if you have it and I will get in touch with you when we get back and send ya some pics. cjfox76
