I am fostering a sporting dog in B'ham, AL. There is a couple very interested in evaluating her for competitions. They live in Jacksonville, FL. I agreed to meet them somewhere, so they don't have to drive so far. We need access to either a dog park or preferably a soccer field. Dog parks are not ideal because the other dogs are a distraction. But as a last resort, it's an option. Really any fenced in well mowed/kept grassy area would work.

My daughters and I would like to make this into a quick beach trip. We would like to stay somewhere reasonably close to the beach--Panama City area probably. It needs to be somewhere that isn't too out of the way for the couple coming from Jacksonville. I can figure that out later. I really just need a good meeting place to throw frisbees to this sweet dog. I have been looking on the map at some towns on hwy 20 east/southeast of Tallahassee and west of hwy 231.

Any ideas are appreciated!

Depending on the response, you might want to check with some of the dog clubs in the area and see if they know of any fenced fields. I also don’t think a dog park is a good idea unless it’s empty. Maybe you can control your foster dog but you can’t count on the other person to control their pet. The only dog parks I liked had an attendant.

It’s been my experience that people who are active in dog clubs know the good, bad and ugly when it comes to finding places to train and/or hold classes.
