I wish I could tell you better news, I have had allergies since I was 12. Some areas of Florida are better than others, but it's till bad here too. I know what you mean about having allergies the best time of the year up there. I had them April to end of may. My first 2 years here were allergy free for the most part, then the mold spores got to me more and more...

allergies are bad here almost everyone I know has a problem in Florida with them. I take medicine every day and I am OK as long as I don`t forget my dose.

Also, are there mold and mildew spores in the air in New England (during the summer)? I've never even heard of them before...

Well, I get less allergy attacks here in Cape Coral than any other part of the state, ESPECIALLY central Florida.

There are mold spores everywhere you live, but here in warm, humid, Florida... It's just 10 times worse. Also, up north the cold kills off the spores, where here in Florida it never does. I have been in property management and I have seen many apartments with mold growing in closets, walls, on buildings, etc. One apartment we had to call a company in for them to tear out the walls and spray the entire apartment with chemicals to kill it. Needless to say I did not go in there without my mask... I ended up quitting that place beacuse it turned out the WHOLE property had this problem, GEE is that why my daughter and I were cmpletely stuffed up, and had headaches all the time???

When I move back up there in November, I will not come back here, I will deal with the spring allergies. I'm not moving because of allergies either, many issues are making me go home. 14 years here is long enough.

I had no allergies in NY, MD or MA. Here I am awful from January-April. Whatever is blooming then I get headaches, itchy eyes, etc.. My friend from NJ is the same. No allergies up north-awful here. DH had some allergies up north (Lilac) but seems OK here. Some days the pollen is so bad it just coats your car with a green film. Lots of pine here too.

With me the oak trees in central Fl are the worst for me of ANY other allergens, they nearly swell my eyes shut, and need a bucket for my nose(yes gross, but true). Nothing got me like that up north... Florida is loaded with so many plants, flowers, trees......
