Default what does he like to eat ?

If you let me know what he likes to eat I will put some food out in hopes that I find him. I would check right in your neighborhood. Poor thing, I hope you find him.

Default Update on Cuco

Hi everyone: Still no word on my missing beloved Cuco. I searched for hours and hours last night, and then again this morning, until I could barely speak anymore calling his name out. I'm praying he's OK and that someone will find him soon. For the person that asked what he likes to eat, I'm hoping you're in the St. Augustine area as I'm 5 hours away and that's what makes it so hard. If you are, I would be so grateful. He loves cockatiel food, but also loves grapes. Unfortunately, being 5 hours away, I'm unable to leave his cage/food outside for him. I drove the 5 hours yesterday to the spot I lost him and walked around for hours calling for him and driving around putting up flyers. I did the same this morning but nothing - and then I had to come back down to South Florida. I feel so helpless and that's the worst part of this. I will keep everyone posted if I get "the call" that someone's found him - and I've been praying to St. Francis that he's safe. Thanks again for all your support -Colleen

Default To clarify

I forgot to clarify why I'm 5 hours away from where I lost Cuco. I actually live down in South Florida. I was up in the St. Augustine area visiting my parents when I lost him. However, it was about 40 miles from their house. They've put food out, but I don't think he would ever be able to find his way towards their house. Living so far from where I lost him has made it so difficult and I've been relying on help from local people in the St. Augustine area. To all of you, I am forever grateful for all the help, calls and emails I've gotten so far. I will not give up hope. Colleen

Welcome to The Exotic Bird Hospital

The Exotic Bird Hospital saved my quaker parrot after his escape. I had to drive an hour to get him there and I was afraid he wouldn't survive the trip but he recovered completely. I can't say enough good about this place.

I don't know if I'm going to upset anyone by sharing this- and I hesitated to when this was first posted. When my little guy got out, he had always been caged so he didn't understand the "pecking order" (no pun intended) of the wild bird community. He was attacked by another bird- I found him by walking through the neighborhood yards. Hopefully since your bird wasn't found he escaped that danger.

My heart goes out to you and I really hope your little guy finds his way home, safe and sound.

Default Cuco

I am not upset that you shared that about your little guy. I realize that is the reality of it since he is not familiar with "the real world" and I'm so happy for you that yours survived. My worst fear is that he's hurt out there somewhere, unable to get help. I can only hope and pray that he isn't, and that he is still alive and will fly to someone that cares. I'm posting another picture here that I also just posted on another site. It's my favorite picture of him. He was never happier than when he was asleep on my shoulder. Every day he would sleep there, and it didn't matter how much I moved around the house. This is the picture I've always kept as the background on my laptop as he looks so sweet. This is also what he was doing unfortunately, when I pulled over on Monday, and then lost him. :-(

Default Let's all send up a prayer that they get their beloved Cuco back safe!!

From our lips to God's ears, deliver Cuco back to her owners. Amen!

I know how you feel. In a move to a town and home I/we did not want to make, my little girl cat, Runty left one night, never to return. I walked up and down streets calling and crying for her. I know exactly how you must be feeling. I trust your story will have a happier ending. Hugs!
