Remember, no ones life is perfect & some are in desperate need of attention or validation b/c they are not getting it in their life so they do what it takes to get that attention or validation and will go to desperate measures to convince themselves their life is perfect.
Racelady- our marriage grew stronger through the trumbulent time we were in SWFL. It took lots of work, but we did it & are in a much better place (with our marriage) today Our situation was very unique.
And to the OP, marriage is about compromise & commitment, not of force & fear. If you knew .00001% about my dh, you'd understand why I said ok to SWFL.

I understand perfectly what the OP is trying to say. More of my favorites include:
"THERE ARE ALLIGATORS!?!?!?! BY HOUSES?!!!"
or
"THERE ARE REDNECKS AND PICK UP TRUCKS?!?!?!?"
or
"MY SALARY IS SO LOW HERE!!!!"
I could go on...

Eww...god, I hated Pensacola. Move to a better area...Pensacola is like Alabama with a sun tan. I think Pensacola has the crapiest beach in Fl. Make sure you drive down Mobile Highway to get a feel for how trashy and run down everything but the richest parts (the beach area) of the city are. Drive down 110 and Davis Highway to get a feel for how much gas and time you'll spend sitting in traffic. I'm sure 110 is STILL under construction 3 years later. It takes forever to get anywhere there because of the traffic and set up of the city. Rent and insurance is insanely high...of course, it is Fl. Wages are low, lot of really poor people. TONS of bums. The city gives them bright vests so they don't get hit while begging on all the street corners. You can't go anywhere there without bums bothering you...and they're usually drunk. I used to work at a gas station where the homeless constantly tried to steal alcohol and bother customers.
In Gulf Breeze....where all the rich people live, bums aren't tolerated. There's only 1 main bridge in, which gets closed during and some time after a hurricane. When we were there, they were still rebuilding. Nails in your tires are common. Oh and my favorite part of Pensacola....tailgating. Someone is constantly almost running into the back of you. They have the worst drivers I have ever seen. I was stopped at a red light once and some drunk guy slammed into the back of my truck. We also watched a guy on a motorbike get run over because he had to turn and the guy behind him couldn't stop in time.
I don't know why anyone would live in Pensacola....don't get charmed by a nice vacation there....it's a hole.

I dont think there is anything wrong with disliking aspects of where you live so long as you can appreciate that there are pros and cons. I will say i have come across a number of people who are pretty stupid on here, for example a guy rented a place in Miami and wanted to know if he could get out of his lease as he didnt realize how hot it was there. Im sorry but that is just a stupid person who hasnt done any research. And in terms of the lady who hates it here, that is probably just in your nature to defer to your husband so as to avoid confrontation, and i dont think there is anything wrong with that. It shows your a supporting wife. Myself however, i wouldnt do anything on my wifes say so just because if im not happy she wont be happy, its a change for the whole family and that includes me. For me, i love the area, i have no problem with the heat, the bugs, the hurricanes etc. Its all par for the course. And a great many people have given pros and cons so i think that is healthy aswell. What you do find alot of people on here is that the only focus on the negatives which is annoying because we know there are negatives everywhere, but there must be pos aswell.

Really isn't the problem that your AC is broken and the place you live and where you work are not in the best places considering drive time?
|
I`m not saying Texas or what ever is better I am just saying having no A/C in a state that gets hot can suck just like living in a freezing state with no heat would suck too.
Yes it`s true where I work is not very convenient for driving the office moved further away and I am looking into getting something closer but for now I deal with no A/c in the car I lived here 25 years so I can deal.
I was not trying to offend you I apologize if you took it as poking at you no hard feelings

You hate hot weather.
The hot weather issue is one that is not controlled by anyone. To some of us that have travel most of the US and extensively overseas, our weather is not that bad. During my 2 year in ND the heat and humidity was worst that my current area in the Panhandle. Hottest place that I visited was Saudi Arabia, the temperature in the runway was 135 degrees and an egg will actually cook and the sole of the boots will start to melt if you stay in one place for a bit of time. We had rain but evaporated in the way down.

After 16 years in Florida hurricanes are a breeze, now talk about tornadoes, very little warning, experienced a few in San Antonio and did not like it at all. BTW I was stationed @ Homested AFB during Andrew so I experienced one of the worst hurricanes.
You don't like tourists. I do and they don't become a problem in my area. Have you ever considered yourself as a TOURIST?
You hadn't done research into what kind of jobs are available? Great ones if you have the skills that they are looking for. Some of us in the Aerospace Industry are doing great in the northwest part of the state. In my case I go to the area that my skills are required, rather than complain that I can get a job because what I do is not in demand.
AND for those of you who grew up here this thread isn't about you.
But should be about everyone, because this state is a melting pot
Now that I got your attention, stay on topic, respect everyone inputs, I'll take care of the rude ones.
Thank you.

I lived in Navarre for 11 years and is not that bad, maybe in just lucky. The traffic is very busy, but you got to adjust if you live in paradise ( I do)..

Navarre really isn't downtown Pensacola. Cities vary a lot.... Navarre is closer to Gulf Breeze than Pensacola and I already stated how different Gulf Breeze is to Pensacola. Why would living 30 minutes away from a city I'm talking about give you any idea what that city is like?

As I have said before, the job market IS bad here, rather then cry in my beer, I found a job working from home. I have the time to post because I do a customer service job, sitting at home. When there are no calls, I am here playing around on the computer.

But, hey, keep on judging people even though you don't know every detail of their reasons for moving nor should you.
You have a great day!

So was it compromise and not as bad as your saying or your husband wasn't taking your feelings into consideration. Frankly your posts are rather agressive and defensive, that speaks to who YOU are, not me.
I'm not desperate enough to be in a marriage that I would live somewhere that makes me misreable. BUT thats just me. I am more independent then that. If a man can't see that my needs are as important as his, then he doesn't deserve me.
