Default Lee County?

If it is Lee County you speak of and you are considering a move to here, please do yourself a favor and look north of here. Sarasota, Venice, St. Petersburg, of Tampa. I curse the day I moved here and am getting out ad soon as I possibly can.

Lee County is just fine, Like other counties in Florida we have seen huge growth over the last 5 years and price increases.

However, now is a good time to shop real estate, prices are down and it is a buyers market. Lee county has the lowest unemployment in the state.

You will find many people like the guy above, that is mad because he sat on the side lines and watched the real estate market boom and did not buy, or waited until the peak to buy.

The only problem with Lee county is the southerners that live here, they are being pushed out. This is not a county for the lazy southern attitude. If you want to be a bum, go elsewhere. If your looking for opportunity, it's a great place.

Assuming you're not retired, unless you already have a job offer or own your own business, find a job first. It's not that jobs aren't out there, but Lee county is not a metropolitan area. You're not likely to find a job in certain fields. If you're in real estate (not just sales, but appraisals, etc) there is a decent job market. But if you're in the manufacturing or computer industries, stay far away. You'll get frustrated looking for a job (because there are none). Companies aren't moving here, either. Between the rising land prices (yes, land prices never stopped rising), taxes, and lack of suitable workforce, SW Florida has absolutely nothing to entice a company to move into the area.

Edit: If you're not talking about Lee County, then disregard this message.
