How far back do we have to go? Not too far, the tag that is recommended is designed to recognize positive contributions. Many times we forget the positive action and obscure the true meaning of the intent.

But to get back on topic, is a proposal that state citizens will either support or not.

I wouldnt support it, but that's just me, but I dont think many others (except for Hispanics - about 20% of the states population) would either.

If I still lived there I would vote for it. Honestly, who are you and why do you care ? Other then native Americans, were they not the first in Florida ? I mean seriously, If they want to have that plate and pay for it, who cares ? I don't play golf and think the game is stupid but do I purposely try to block the state from having it ? nope. Same goes for Nascar, The Arts, Wildlife, ect, ect, ect.

The Anti-Hispanic attitude in this country is pretty lame.

I take it you didnt live in S FL or Orlando when you lived here in FL, the Hispanic population is well represented here believe me, between the billboards, flags on vehicles, etc. LOL

I like the Sports teams plates as well as many others.
Well, that plate would be historically wrong anyway.

The SPANISH "discovered" Florida.... which was of course already "discovered" by the Natives.

When most people think of "Hispanic" they tend to think of Latin Americans.

I like one plate per state, it makes its easier to ID. I also think the county should be displayed.
I was pulled over for an obscured plate once, a letter on the dealer frame intruded onto a letter on the tag, by half an inch! I was at fault, duh? I hadn't even noticed and, imho, the dealer should have known better than to put me on the road with an illegally dispayed tag!
Looking at some of the tags in Florida I see a number of them are difficult to read at a glance. If I wanted to support a local something or hobby, I would donate directly, buy a bumper sticker, teeshirt or the like.
