Thanks so much, Midnight Gardner, for all the great pictures and memories! We recently visited the Port Charlotte area, have lots of relatives there, and are seriously thinking of retiring there in the near future. Cold weather is NOT for me anymore! Brrrr! It's even cool this JULY here in upstate NY!! We're also considering Cape Coral.....do you know if there are any good comparisons to the Pt. Charlotte/Punta Gorda area to the Cape Coral area? There are lots of waterfront homes for sale in all these places, and I'm wondering if you could give us an opinion? Thanks so much! Karen and Jim

Hmmm.... I live north of there, so I don't know much about Cape Coral. It is a huge city in area, much larger than Port Charlotte, but I do not think they have more amenities, just urban sprawl. I like the beaches and Marinas near Englewood Beach, Boca Grande, Palm Island, etc., so I am biased!
