Coconut Grove! It is the hippest town and close enough to South Beach and City of Miami to keep it exciting!

Port Richey. Quiet enough to be "small town" but big enough to be convenient...and right on the water!

I would have to disagree that "all of Florida is a cesspool" though large parts are a septic tank.
Chipley: Yeehaw! In my twenties I worked at a concrete plant that poured concrete for I-10. I would have to blame DeFuniak Springs, Chipley, and Bonifay to my sad divorce back then. (Her Dad owned the plant.)
I was in DeFuniak last week. It's a pathetic shadow of a barely surviving culture spot from the turn of the century. I can't imagine Chipley being any better and it never was a culture destination. If you seldom leave your house and take drives to the beach you might like it.

If you're old, you'll love Ocala.

Since a lot of people, no where near being considered old, actually like Ocala, it may be more helpful to tell the specific, objective reasons you do not. If your onlu reasons are subjective, at least give some info about yourself so that we can discern if we would feel the same way about the info you have provided.
