Well, I wish it was like that when I was up there last year...Atlanta really let me down after living it for a month. Oh well, different strokes.

I have lived in Atlanta for many years. I make it a point to live close in so I don't have to be in traffic. I live in Cobb County, ten miles from town. I take the back roads to work. No problem. I don't even get on the expressway during rush hour. So I don't have a problem with traffic. Atlanta has more job opportunities than Florida and the people are nicer. There are bad areas here, but far away from the good areas. I feel very safe driving around. I was born and raised in Florida and have been down quite a bit. I spent a few months in south Florida two years ago. No way would I raise a child in Florida. You can make friends in Atlanta. I found it difficult to make friends in Florida. I like to visit Florida, but would not live there. Too many negatives.

The secondary roads are clogged due to traffic signals and there are no back roads. I moved to North Gwinnett County suburbs to have a nice home in low crime area but it takes me 1 hr to 1.5hrs to get to work EVERY morning and the same coming home. I considered moving closer to downtown but the crime in inner city neighborhoods is unbearble in my price range. The narrorw minded rednecks of my county have voted down public transportation through MARTA for the past 5 years. I would take the train if there was such an option. I'm sure the same can be said for any city but this is one of the many reasons, we are moving to Florida as soon as our home sells. I'm a "pisces" and being landlocked is not my forte. I love the gulf coast and can't wait to move.

So have you sold your home yet? I'm stuck in crappy Clayton county.

Too much crime in Atlanta? Why would you move back to Miami then, that makes no sense. Plus, you have places like Alpharetta and Roswell, etc... so many nice areas. Miami and surrounding areas are plagued with crime, rude people, etc...

O.K. stop the Atlanta bashing. I grew up in Tampa and Ft. Lauderdale and am familiar with Florida. Lived in Ft. Lauderdale two years also lived in Tampa in 2004. Bad traffic in both places. Yes, Atlanta has some roads during rush hour to stay away from, but the town as a whole does not have horrible traffic. I live about 10 miles from town and see very little traffic, except during rush hours. At least Atlanta has built roads to handle the traffic, can't say the same for Tampa. Rush hour in Tampa is horrible and you better not live in Pinellas and work in Tampa as the bridges clog up. Traffic in Pinellas is horrible. Roads are constantly being improved and worked on in Atlanta. Atlanta is a great international city, lots to do and the mountains not far. World-class medical and fabulous restaurants. The secret to avoiding bad traffic anywhere is to live near where you work. That's what I do. I found Ft. Lauderdale boring and the people rude and not friendly. Actually, I love Florida because it's my home, but living in Atlanta is much better. I can visit Florida. Very little crime where I live and there are many areas of Atlanta that are safe.

I wouldn't live in Miami either for the same reason. Too much crime. I'm talking about west of Ft. Lauderdale in Sunrise or Tamarac. As far as the rude people. Yes there are rude people there but here there's racists. Faaaar more than south florida. I guess you can say I'm picking the lesser of 2 evils but at least I'm used to florida and the weather.

I'd rather be around racists. You cant escape rude people, because everyday we gotta go out on the roads, talk to people, etc... I have never had someone come up to me and start saying the N word for no reason. But I have had people be rude for no reason. There are a lot of rude and aggressive people in FL. Not like Atlanta.

I hope you are from Miami because the other cities in Florida can not touch Atlanta in nightlife or anything for that matter.

And on the other hand, Miami's crime is worse than Atlanta's so he is making the smart choice, and not choosing to move to Miami.

Believe it or not, they have racists in South Florida and rude people in Atlanta too.
