Post Man-O-War Invasion Continues Along Volusia County Coast

Has any problems in your area?

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. -- Portuguese man-o-war are invading Volusia County. The little purple jellyfish have been making their way north for the past couple of weeks.

Several stings have been reported. Man-o-war tentacles can cause a lot of pain, but are generally not deadly unless you are allergic to the toxin. A strong easterly wind is bringing them to shore. Beach Patrol said there is no way to tell how long they will stick around.
