Northern Jersey looked just like that this morning (less snow). Thank God it warmed up to 40 degrees to melt most of it away. I LOATH this weather, I am an avid fisherman and motorcyclist. This weather is sucking my will to live!

Florida may have it's problems, but it's gotta be better than this!

FLORIDA OR BUST !!!!!!!!!!!

Norris I couldn't agree with you more!

Grammy, thank you for posting those pics. It looks like it does up here a lot of winters, but the past two winters have been decent and this one appears to be an ok winter, too.

Put a fire in the fireplace and the snows not too bad, but what do you do when a storm hits Florida?

I guess you have to see it first hand.
But the grass is still green.

I'll take the 3 hurricanes I went through in the 25 years I've lived here over the ice and snow EVERY year any day. All total those 3 hurricanes inconvenienced me for a couple of weeks. They cost me no money - no damage to speak of...except we had to have a big neighborhood party and cook all the defrosted meat in the freezer.

I grew up in the carolinas where we had ice storms every winter. We always lost electricity. There was no heat, no way to cook, no lights, no hot water, etc. and this happened EVERY year...and we're still talking the south.

I lived on the side of a mountain in TN, and every time we had snow and/or ice, we were either stranded in the house, or if we DARED drive down the hill, we had to park at the bottom and walk back up. The last winter we were there - we had 3 snow and ice storms and one time couldn't get out of our house for 3 days.

Again, my choice is Florida.

Ok guys let's talk odds.......

The odds of your town/ I'll even give you county, getting hit by a cat 3 hurricane (or better) any given hurricane season are at best 30%.

Let me give you some good ol' yankee north Jersey odds.........

Odds of hurting your back during snow removal of any kind 70%.
Odds of busting your a-- walking on some icy sidewalk or stair case 80%
Odds of some form of car wreck (major or minor) 60%
Odds of temperature falling into single digits for at least a month 95%
Odds of lossing your mind after being trapped indoors for the better part of 5 months with only 6hrs of ash gray daylight 100% !!!!!!!!!!!

Care to gamble ?!

p.s. Anyone how much wind does it take to cuase that kind of damage?

It appears as if the Moderator deleted my previous post My comment was simply the map showing national temeratures did not show the true third world cespool large parts of this state has become.I lived in South Florida and Central Florida for 25 years and still visit annually I should know!
If my Statement is that bad maybe you should check out the recent article in The Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel.I would provide a link to said article but they do not allow linkage here.
