23 Degrees- BRRRRRRRR!!!
Being spoiled by the unseasonably warm winter until recently, the 23 degrees today, with no wind, just slaps you in the face. So all the negative comments, even Floridians complaining about unbearable summers, aren't cutting when it's 80 and beautiful in South Florida today.
I hear everyone that wants to open their windows during the winter in Florida. Go for it! We can't even have the kids play outside, let alone go swimming. So Florida, you beautiful state, I don't want to rush my life but, see ya in seven years!

IBNYer, I'm right there with you. Assuming you're in "the City", I'm about 300 miles north of you and it was 0 at our house this morning. Our high is going to be about 18. Luckily, there's no wind like yesterday, so no wind chill in the negatives. Keep warm, friend!

Low 80's here in Port Charlotte and I was just out watering our Tangerine and Orange trees as well as checking on our garden where all the herbs, catnip and other things are growing quite well. We even have the begginnings of "Dragon Fruit" plants/trees. We brought the seeds back from SE Asia ( Vietnam ) where they grow in abundance about 200 miles north of Saigon in a place called Phan Thiet. There will be fruit on these mini trees this summer. Tough to find in this country but when you do find them they're 5 bucks each.
All grows here in S Fla.
We're thinking about buying a house in Navarre or maybe even Milton in the Panhandle. Wonder what we can grow up there ( Peaches???? )
Florida's a great place. We took it on the chin for a couple years here and the worst isn't over in the real estate market. So what! We're looking at 3,000 sq ft houses on half acres in the Panhandle for a quarter million, 5 minutes from some of the most beautiful snow white beaches in the world. Beat that elsewhere.
SW Fla is warm warm warm today. The Southern east coast of Fla is bustling with activity. No state government invading your life to rip you off for every dollar you make. Not here.
It's a great place. Just please, if your anywhere near New Jersey, PLEASE bring some Pizza down with ya OK? Some good bagels and salt sticks would hit the spot right now too. We'll trade ya some of the best biscuits you ever had.
Heheh

Sorry, MrTudo (may I call you tudo?), but I'm closer to Montreal and Vermont. How about some nice bagels or, even better, REAL maple syrup???

Tudo is good. So is Tom Nice to meet you.
Bagels would be good. A friend of mine who lives in the Bershires of western Mass sent me a gallon of real maple syrup from up yonder . Yum!

You, too, Tom. Pattie here.
I have a friends who "harvest" and make their own syrup. It's wonderful; I could drink a gallon of it, but probably wouldn't feel too good for a few days afterward!
I plan on buying a gallon of this year's batch before we move down to FL in September. Half jokingly, I told my friends I'd be their Southern Distributor if they wanted. I'm willing to share...Hey! Maple Syrup on home made biscuits. Sounds scrumptious.

What the heck, I'll join in........
As some here know from my other posts, i'm new here, but am in the process of buying a house in Leesburg. We were just down there last week.....took a nonstop flight back home in Western NY...went from 80 to 11 degrees and icy in about 3 hours....
Today here in is 19 degrees.....cold crunchy. All cars are salty grey. fireplace is on.....gas is $2.50, and my heat bill will be high this month.
Should be back down there to close on the house in 2 weeks...can't wait!
BUT..maybe I'll order a pizza tonight with real Buffalo chicken wings....
