Tattoos and working in Pensacola
Before I start - I don't want to hear "he should have thought about that before he got the tattoos!" Because, he didn't...and now he does realize how much harder things are on him because of it!
So, my boyfriend lost his job 3 months ago as a tile installer because the store closed. No other tile stores are hiring. His only work experience is in construction and hair (Odd combo I know, he moved here from NYC and worked at a salon there but his liscense won't transfer here).
He has been looking for a job for months now and has had no luck. He's sent out about 2 dozen resumes/applications, and had 3 interviews. All took one look at him and basically said "We'll let you know.." and he never heard from them again.
He needs to make at least $10 an hour to support himself (I know, $10 an hour in Pensacola is not likely!). He's an increadibly hard worker, and is in his 3rd semester at PJC (he's been on the deans list every semester and is going for graphic design).
Can anyone suggest any places around here that may be hiring and not mind tattoos? (Besides tattoo shops...he's tried!). He has tattoo's on his neck and hands (as well as both arms, chest, back...).
He really is the sweetest and most hard working individual, but no one will give him a chance!
Thank you in advance!!

I would suggest he apply at warehouses, most will not care that he has tattoos.

If he had a hair license in NY then I'd find out how to get the hours needed here they may be fewer. OR maybe you can take the boards and get licensed just by passing the test. OR go to barber school it's faster I think.
I would have his resume professionally looked at to make sure his accomplishments etc are on there correctly.
Also Lowes, grocery stores jobs like that pay that much I think.
My son is a graphic designer and got his permanent job by asking for an unpaid internship during school at the place of his dreams. They snatched him up and that was many years ago and they love him so much they'd never get rid of him according to the owner.
You may have to move to be near work. There are other schools he could likely transfer to.
Also try the music business there are several in central and western Florida. His degree might have to wait if he can't live on zero.

Maybe become a subcontractor for ACE, Lowes or Home Depot. Check with the larger hotels, possible maintenance jobs.
Can he cook? Have him check on Pcola NAS for NAF jobs, they have MWR jobs, hospitality, cooks, clubs (Officer/NCO), and others.
