Default Retiring in Clearwater in Oct

Hello everybody in the Florida Forum. In Oct we'll be moving into a house in Clearwater we're buying. I lived in Clearwater once for 6 months and am prepared for the heat and humidity. We are currently in Los Angeles. The main thing I like about LA is the weather. That's funny, the only thing I don't like about Clearwater is the weather (at least in the summer). Anyway, the house we are buying is a fixer upper but it's currently getting a new roof and new siding along with several other repairs. Utility wise it has gas and electric. My question is; wouldn't it be considerably less expensive to use gas for stove, water heating, house heating, instead of electricity? It currently has central A/C heating using gas but everything else is electric.

Hi. Just happened upon this question. I lived in FL my entire life mostly Clearwater Largo area. The only electric alternatives I saw used were either heating oil or propane. Not really sure if there is natural gas, where, or how much, but I never saw it anywhere.
I believe this area is covered by FL Progress for electricity. Try their website maybe they can help.
