I did look into Special Counsel, they didn't have anything in the area. I haven't seem any other opportunities for Contract Attorney work in the area.

I did look for local alumni. There was only 1, and I did contact him for advice as well.

I did get reciprocity with career services from a Florida law school. However, the jobs only jobs they had in the area were the ones from people's first.

Thanks & let me know if you had any other ideas.

1. Whats the racial prejudice situation like in general ?

There is a great mix of people here, but I haven't noticed alot of prejustice in the area, not any more than anywhere else.

2. No State Income tax, right ?

Yes, I believe there is a state income tax. If you live on the beach, then you don't have to pay a house tax, but
you can only
technically lease your house for 99 years.

3. What are some towns that are not so good to stay away from within a 30
minute radius of Pensacola ?

I wouldn't say there are any bad towns within Pensacola, just bad parts of town in Pensacola.

4. How frequent are slightly LESS than Hurricane 1 force winds ?
The thing with hurricans is there could be 3 in one season or none at all. Hurricane 1 force winds aren't bad at all. I
have actually stayed through a cat 5 hurricane, but I was in a house that was very secure and had it been thru all the hurricanes
since the 30's. I would not recommend this. If I had to say a number I guess that would be about every 1-2 years.

5. Is it relatively easy to make new friends in this area coming from the
Midwest ?

This is a fairly friendly town. There are tons of different kinds of people, so I would say you just gotta go out and meet people.

6.
Approx. how many Home DePot stores are there within the Pensacola city
limits ? How many within a 30 minute radius, approx. ?

I believe there are 3 that I can count right off hand.

7. What DONT you like about living in the Panhandle ?

NO JOBS! Can stress this enough. The economy is really bad here. If you do actually find a job, the pay is really low.

Thanks again., David.

I answered with the best of my ability and knowledge. Let me know if there are any other questions you have. Thanks!

Florida has no state income tax

(The Florida constitution explicitly prohibits a personal income tax)

REPLY: Does it depend on the TYPES of jobs one is looking for ? What about skilled tradesmen (HVAC) or semi-skilled jobs ? When you say 'theres no jobs'... what level jobs are you specifically referring to ? Thanks.

Further questions if you dont mind : What is a gallon of regular gasoline currently going for in the suburbs of Pensacola ? When is the height of the Tourist season for the Pensacola/Destin area ? Does it get considerably congested during this time, or just a little more ? Are there any Seafood Buffets in or around Pensacola that you could recommend if price is not a concern ? Thanks again. Sure appreciate your willingness.

In general any job is hard to find here is what it seems, compared to other cities with this many people, maybe that is why. Now after a hurricane hits skilled trade/labor jobs are in high demand. I checked and actually found a HVAC job..check out www.pensacolajobs.com Job ID 1593915
It was just listed. So there ya go.
