I sound like such a goofball - ignoring all the nasty back and forth stuff and going on about my candles! So what! Let's get back to what we are here for.
By the way, I, too am taking advantage of Florida's pension...6 years in the Florida Retirement System - which I will meet in May- will have me vested. Now I can move and keep all of that and let it grow.

But you said being up North is the only thing that matters. So why would living in a place like that be an issue?
Everything would be perfect.

How do you know about Lefrak City? Hey, maybe we could have moved to the Bowrey too? Or maybe something up in the South Bronx? Bed Sty? Oh, Wyandanch would be perfect too? Never even have to leave Long Island at all.
No, we will take the money and pension that Florida is giving us and LEAVE it someday.
Ok, now I understand. But again, ENOUGH about me. If you don't like what we are saying on this "miserable" thread, then why read and post to it? If you are so happy here in Florida, why do you care about those of us who are miserable?????? Enjoy yourself and leave us alone in our misery.

I was at TJ Maxx last weekend looking to buy a Fall tablecloth. The store was absolutely packed with Fall decorations. It really surprised me. People were actually buying all decorations by the wagon full. Again, I couldn't believe it.
However, in reading all your posts, it seems there must be a lot of us transplanted northerners who miss our 4 seasons so much that we want to create it here in our homes, away from the Florida lifestyle.

There are people living in Section 8 housing up there who barely work and manage to live in that area.

If it's no big deal to you, then I guess you wouldn't mind it. Now leave everyone alone on this thread.

It actually is a big deal to me. That's my point.

I'd personally not risk my life living in a slum if it meant having the 4 seasons. My life is more important than the weather. I would move to Florida temporarily until I had the money to move/retire back north like a lot of these people.

So you agree with me. Great!
I'm done with this lame thread.

the attempt to hijack this thread. We have just discovered something we are all doing which we never dreamed anyone else did. Living in our own little Fall/Winter fantasy worlds. It's very comforting to know others feel the same as we do.
This is what this thread was INTENDED for.

OK great, enjoy your fantasy bubble. I'm sure it's safer than finding constructive solutions to life's problems.
Buh bye!
