actually the cost of living is only slightly higher in most areas of florida (certainly not miami or the keys) than it is here (louisville) and the pay is considerably higher for his line of work. my husband already has references in florida and a few prospects. i don't doubt that it will be hard, but it will be harder for us if we don't try and make our dream happen. anyway thanks again for your concern.

now back to the topic! what areas/towns to look into?

St Augustine has quite an artisit community and market, and plenty of good golfing nearby. And no I4 parking lot.

we've been to the space coast and liked that area alot too. any opinions on that area? where to avoid? we've only been there on vacation, so it is hard to tell

I live in Palm Bay. It's an hour and 15 minutes southeast of Orlando, 15 minutes from the beach. I don't ever hear of that much crime here. I've lived here for 16 years and nothing has ever happened. We about 4 Golf courses in the direct area. I think you would like it here.
