Default Where's MY dog?

I love living in Florida but my dog would tell you a different story.

Since we moved here, all he does is lay around, only moving his eyes when you pass by. He gives me this digusted look, like he's cursing me out (you have to be a dog owner to understand). The only time he gets up is to go potty or if he thinks he hears the word yummie.

But a strange thing happened when the last cold front went through. He started running around the house like a crazy dog, jumping on the furniture and nipping at my heels as he ran by. He even brought me his tennis ball and wanted to play fetch.

Is this my dog, did he come out of hibernation, or did someone pull the old switcharoo?

Who's dog is this and what did you do with my dog?

Ha! That is so funny! My dog acts the same way!

She was born & raised in FL. We moved to SC 14 months ago. She was WILD in the cold. As soon as summer rolled around she became a couch potato en extremis. And there is low, low humidity here.

Late fall is when she perked back up.

She is not looking forward to heading back to FL (except for the dog beach, of course!)

One of my Jack Russells is the same way sits on the couch, you have to push him outside when it is above 75 degrees. But with these cold snaps, I can leave the back door open and he is outside playing and hunting.

lol forget your dog, sounds like me!Had a great day yesterday out in everglades and never broke a sweat.

I've always loved dogs, really miss my Doby.Until I finally relocate though Im waiting to get another.

But,Ive never been hip on cats,I dont mind them but never was my thing. There is a black cat though that neighbors left behind a couple years ago, when ever Im outside smoking a cigarette or something she always comes up to me being super friendly. Most of the 'hood likes her too.

So.....a few months ago I finally got suckered, been feeding her and she sleeps in my bed at night sometimes. She usually wants to be outside mostly...usually waking me at 5am arghh!! to go out,but lol!,with this cool blast she couldn;t wait to be inside,I guess she don't like being a "cool" cat haha!

here she is.My cat with a strat.

Heee....it's not just dogs...I agree. As much as I love the warm weather...there's something about crisp cool air that just gives me all this energy!!

All my dogs which include, two labs, one cocker spaniel, one chow mix and one shih tzu all enjoy the cooler weather. Now Shih Tzu's have very small noses which mean a very small nasal pasage and CANNOT tolerate heat and cannot be left outside. My labs and cocker are 14 yrs old and have seen there better days. I can't stress enough the importance of keeping your pets inside during the extreme heat season anywhere, esp. in FL. It dosen't take very long in the right temp (don't know the peak) for your pet to die.

PLEASE KEEP YOUR PETS SAFE AND COOL!

Agreed....one particularly hot day last summer as my poor husband was walking our bichon...he noticed that he was standing in the hot sun while she was scooting from one mailbox to the next and sitting down in the shade of the mailboxes!!!! Now that's hot!!
