It's terrible in Missouri. My monthly budget bill is 227.00 per month. I'm 56 and my pad rent is 325.00 a month. I'm am being forced to sell my mobile home because I cannot afford cable, insurance, phone, and auto expense. I can't afford groceries, gas in car, and the electric bill, so something has to go. So sad, because I paid cash for it and it's s 2000 single wide and beautiful.

What I have been reading seems like not quite right.We have been in our 1680 sg ft doublewide for 8 years,retired.
We keep thermostat on auto 24/7,70 winter,78 summer.When we leave in summer set it at 81.
We would never turn AC off,you have recipe for humidity disaster.
Turning thermostat up and down accomplishes next to nothing in savings.
Our electric ran $85 in winter and $115 in summer,we went to level billing and now $93-$110.
We have 2 computers going 8am-10pm along with 3 TV's and use electric as we please.
Our metal roof has 3/4 inch foam underneath,probably helps deflect some sun.

1070KWH around $275.00 so around $3.89 per KWH. 12xsomething manufactured home built in the 80s Mooresville, NC 2015.

I have properties in Jacksonville that's how I seen this, but it's all land.

To people having financial problems: It's simple math. If your expenses total more than your allowance or income or revenue than lower your expenses or get more income or revenue or allowance. If you're this low on money there is no other way like investment. At least not short-term and if you're as old as you sound you don't have time for long-term profit to improve things..

You should put in window ACs and just cool the room you are in. You can get your bill down to less than $100 or less a month doing that.

I live in Lake City,retired,have lived in area fro 25 years and electric cost never a problem.At present own a 28 X 63 1680 sq ft doublewide.
With FPL level billing $95- $99,just turned on ac's in my 2 outbuildings and level billing now $105.
We use electric as we please,3 TV's,AC on 78,2 computers and 5 fans every day,also electric stove.
Heat pump thru winter $85.
Did not realize I had posted on this subject.We have home for sale with no takers,1997 is to old for finance,sad,excellent home.

Laptops only pull around 0.5A peak depending on state, Desktops 2A-10A depending on voltage and output and state, fridges only a few amps, TVs 1A-5A depending on state. These are inputs too not based on output ratings and most are switching supplies.

It's the stuff that heats things like dryers and hot water makers and hot-plates that will pull at least 9A no matter what..

If you use something like a dryer, even a "ENERGY STAR", you'll be hard pressed to get <$200.00 or <1000 KWH unless you have an inactive lifestyle and or pile clothes and have a big wardrobe.

sqft means nothing for this. You're being charged for KWH and the thermal-efficiency of your home represent a very small portion of your net KWH.. I know I have the tools and have measured in multiple countries with various habits and construction.

We have fools in my area trying to sell double wides from the 70s for $50,000 and that's not with the land, you have to pay $700 a month more for lot rent. There are ones that are 10 years old that are only asking for $40K and can't sell them. The ones with the really old ones think they have an asset when what they have is a debt of $700 every month.

You can't move those old trailers, and even if you could it costs $3,000 or more just for a single-wide, so it's really a big hustle by the lot owner..

What are you asking for your mobile home? In good area or, pardon expression, "trailer trashy?" What is lot rent? Amenities in park like pool, laundry, clubhouse? Trees?

Jacksonville - This isnt a motor home but a 800 sq foot apartment. I keep it at 75 during the day and 69-71 at night and its never over 95. I am a middle unit though, so no side windows. Honestly its great, i hear about people at work spending 300 plus on a house keeping it 8 degrees warmer than me at night.
