Default Prep for rains for Townhouse in Tally

We own a townhouse in Tally as my son goes to school at FSU. My husband and I live in Atlanta. We have been through hurricanes before, and I know Fay is not going to be one, but with the severe rains they are predicting, what should we do to get him prepared to protect the property. Should I send him out to buy sandbags?

TIA,

My husband and I lived in Tallahassee for 18 years, still have family there. Went thru a few hurricane/tropical storms there. Some areas of Tallahassee do fine and some areas are prone to flooding. St. Augustine road is bad, as is several of the roads like Franklin in downtown. Have him ask a neighbor or 2 if the townhouses have any problems when they get a lot of rain. Sometimes when water would blow against my sliding glass doors it would come in thru the track so I always put a towel there, also, my front dorr did not seal real good and water would come in there again if blowing alot against it so a towel there would work. Don't worry, just have him ask about what others have needed to do and tell him to stay home, the roads do flood so he is better off not being out in it. Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Most of the townhouses occupy tenants and not owners, so lots of people in and out. But I think his next door neighbor has lived there for a while, so I will have my son ask him.

He and the house are fine thank you! FSU got about 20 inches of rain, so I imagine now everything is going to be really buggy & muggy. Classes did start today, on schedule

It is definitely buggy and muggy and it STILL hasn't stopped raining.

I got 24 inches of rain at my house over the weekend. Luckily, I live on top of a hill or I would be under water now.
