Default Drive From Santa Rosa Bch to Eglin AFB

Can someone provide an estimated drive time from Santa Rosa Beach to Eglin AFB? I don't always trust the online map times.

Will be working on Eglin and weighing pros and cons between drive times from both Navarre and Santa Rosa Beach. From what I see, Navarre may be closest drive time, but part of me was wishful thinking for the other....

Navarre is def. closer, and is about a 20 minute drive to Eglin, whereas Santa Rosa Bch. is farther. There are two routes to Eglin from Santa Rosa Bch. - if you take Hwy 98 thru to Destin, there's alot of traffic between Destin and Ft. Walton. If you take the mid-bay bridge (it's a toll bridge) from Destin, you've got to get down from Niceville into Valpariso, and then Eglin (this route would be faster, as it's mostly highway once you get out of Niceville, but still a hike). I'd say Santa Rosa Bch. could be 30-45 minutes depending on the traffic and which way you go.

Navarre is growing, and the nice thing about Navarre is that you're also closer to Pensacola, which is a bigger city. Plus, the beaches are just as nice, although not as resort-ish as Destin is. Navarre is still developing and the housing market is cheaper. Check out Holley-by-the-Sea or Tiger Point as far as communities go in Navarre, too.

Good luck!
