Jeez.... You can see ALL of Auburndale in 60 minutes and make up your own mind. As to were I would like to live if this was my choice, away from I-4 and not in a subdivision. Some nice properties close to "downtown"

I have seen most of Auburndale, I want to know what are the bad areas? Like we have seen some nice homes down on Lake Alfred Rd, but at the end of the road is the Railroad tracks..not sure if its a good area or not

Default Auburndale used to be considered a rough little town

I don't know how it is now but Auburndale used to be considered a rough
little town. There used to be a lot of truck stops there that brought in an
element of people who were a bit red neck and who liked to fight.

Years ago there high school football team was very competitive but known
for playing dirty and embarrassing weaker opponents by running up the score.

Winter Haven appears to be a city of much more cultured people and much
less redneck than Auburndale.

Years ago my two sons went to Auburndale high and I could not have been more proud of them and the school.

As far as being rednecks and fighting all the time it is not the way I remember it and I use to attend almost all their sporting events including wrestling matches. In fact i believe that my youngest son may still hold the record there for the fastest pin in his weight class.

Now this time period was 30 something years ago. But at that time even though Auburndale was a lot smaller, I preferred it over Winter Haven.

We live in Inwood which is in winter haven. the prices are great and the lots the best. Don't go past 34th street. The neighborhood crashed! Interlochen, cypress gardens are all upper 200's. I send my daughter to Auburdale High. i liked the school better then Winter haven high. The middle schools are crap but elementary is great. You can send your family to any choice, magent or charter school also . Auburndale has some sketcy neighborhoods. I wouldn't buy there unless on lake. Polk City is out ther but above the I4. GREAT LOTS! Really nice investments if not in center of towm. Let me know the area's you are looking. My neighbor Mary is a agents Here's her info. She know's the area.

Winter Haven also has a larger senior citizen population. I remember when Wal-Mart was going to put a warehouse in Winter Haven and they came out in force and got them to change their minds. Forget that it would have brought jobs to the area.

Auburndale is more a working class area. Yes, they have rednecks but then so do most places. Like most of Central Florida it is getting built up with housing developments. I remember driving around and seeing pastures with cows and horses but now they are all the cookie cutter housing developments.
